  1. The city is always in session. You have to ask one entity or the other first. It makes sense that you'd ask the state for the larger amount initially. If ND agrees, then you have some leverage to use with the city.
  2. WHAT'S THE SCORE???!!!
  3. Because the legislature is in session now.

    Kessel

Well, I don't, but I thought Gopher fans held themselves to a higher standard.

Since when did "chances are" and "I believe" qualify statements as facts?

    UND LAW ALUM

Here's a statment released by UND this afternoon.
  7. St. Coud? Or maybe you meant St. Could, as in: "Who knows what the Huskies could accomplish if they only had a real coach."
  8. So what's the answer? Have security guards spray all non-cheering Sioux fans with pepper spray?

    New Rival...

I thought about SCSU, too, but I also think there's too much mutual respect for an intense rivalry to develop. Plus, it seems like for the past 10 years or more, UND and UNO have played key games against each other that help determine the NCC championship. SCSU may eventually be the same way, but right now, it doesn't have a tradition of being an NCC powerhouse.

    New Rival...

While I agree that the games with GVSU have been terrific, it's a bit difficult to establish a rivalry with a team that you meet on occasion in the playoffs. And I'm not saying that UND's rivalry with UNO comes anywhere near the one it had with NDSU, but it's probably the closest at this point and is likely to remain so as long as both schools are in the NCC.

    New Rival...

    I'd say UNO.
  12. From Suite 49 sports grill near beautiful Ralph Engelstad Arena, Tim Hennessy and Scott Swygman are the hosts with Sioux hockey coach Dave Hakstol. TH: The Sioux had a three point weekend against the Badgers and will close out the season at St. Cloud. The people I
  13. Andrew Joudrey, one of the Wisconsin players, speculated that their Saturday loss to the Sioux might have been because the Badgers were "amazed by the building." It was the first time I heard that excuse used.
  14. First I've heard about it.
  15. I was kidding. He's obviously ready.
  16. And nobody did. Now he owes me.
  17. I still say that he's not ready for the pros.
  18. Oh yeah? Prove it!
  19. I agree that under the circumstances, the turnout was disappointing. I'm just not as shocked by it as you seem to be.
  20. Yep. There were many nights when the Sioux were playing in the old REA that I'd be at home listening on the radio because the game was supposedly sold out and I couldn't get tickets. Then I'd hear Tim Hennessy comment about how many empty seats there were in the building and it would really tick me off. And this was when Blais was coach and putting good teams on the ice.
  21. Well, maybe Andy shouldn't have been eating Hostess products during the game.

    Hobey

No he didn't. Spiewak and Bayda scored the Sioux goals in that game. Let's also not forget that the voting for the award was concluded before UND played Michigan State in the Frozen Four. And nobody should confuse the fan voting with who actually wins the award.
  23. Jan Brady State University. It's a "Brady Bunch" reference to Jan Brady (SCSU) who -- as I understand it -- was forever jealous of her sister Marcia Brady (Minnesota). I never watched the "Brady Bunch." If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.
  24. I didn't say that it's an excuse that you or anyone else had to accept, only that it was a reason that some fans might not attend. Some people will exercise their right to be stupid and drive no matter how horrible the road conditions are. That doesn't mean it's smart and that everyone should do it. Some people will take more risks than others, just as some people will use excuses more readily than others.
