Not all UND hockey players get full rides. I'm guessing that most of them don't. Under NCAA rules, scholarship information is considered confidential. Unless a player tells you what he or she is getting, you're not likely to find out.

I'm not sure the use of instant replay would have affected the calls on the off-the-skate" goals (none of which I saw). My understanding is that the use of the replay is solely to determine if the puck crossed the line and nothing else. When the puck goes in off the skate, it's up to the referee to decide whether the puck was kicked in or "deliberately directed into the goal." In other words, the ref has to make a judgement call regarding the intent of the player whose skate touched the puck. The replay review, in its current form, isn't supposed to be used to overturn judgement calls. This is why I thought the Sioux got hosed on one of their waved off goals against Denver. Shepherd ruled "no goal" because the puck went off Matt Jones' skate. On the replay, Jones had his back to the shooter and had no idea where the puck was. It just happened to hit his skate before going in, and probably would have gone in if he hadn't touched it. Clearly, Jones neither kicked the puck nor "deliberately directed" it. It shoujld have counted. Now, if Shepherd had waved off the goal because Jones was in the crease, he would have been closer to making the right call.

For a minute there, that seemed like a good idea. But then I thought about it some more. If I didn't have to bum rides, my sudo-reporter status might be threatened. So here's what I'm thinking. You buy the nice car that you were going buy me and then I'll bum rides with you to the games. Nothing says "sudo-reporter" like hitching rides to Sioux hockey games with the UND AD.

Looks like the gloves are off. It's only a matter of time before Diggler releases the photos of forecheck's involvement in the Canisius scandal. How'd we end up with two leading AD candidates who are both stalkers?

All I can say is that it's going to look really bad when AD forecheck is subpoenaed to testify in lawsuits stemming from the Canisius debacle.

Calls that didn't get made tonight: Why don't we have a great big huge goalie who can just stand there and block the whole net? Why don't we just recruit little guys who will stay for four years? So if you get the job, does it mean that Schneider will be with the Sioux another three or four years?
