True. While I'm not predicting anything, I do like UND's chances. The Sioux have played their best games on the road. They played well at Denver last season for five of six periods. Neither the Pioneers nor the Huskies have been playing that well lately, while the Sioux have. Two or three victories against WCHA teams ahead of UND will do wonders for the team's PairWise Ranking.

Lee's play at the blue line led to Duncan's goal Saturday night. Lee made an great play to keep the puck in the zone and good pass to Oshie, who fed Duncan.

I assume that pstar wants the actual Flickertail logo used by UND. I'm sure there probably was one, but I don't ever remember seeing it. Neither the school colors nor the nickname were very popular back when UND was the Flickertails. Based on what I read in the Dakota Student and yearbooks at Chester Fritz special collections, most people tried to avoid using "Flickertails." The nickname "Nodaks" was often substituted.

The team colors were (officially) the same as they are now: green and pink.

From the story above: How does this make sense? The only way the NCAA can not be associated with a member institution that "uses hostile Native American imagery" is to kick it out of the association! As it currently stands, UND can continue to use its "hostile Native American imagery" and it can continue to participate in NCAA-sponsored playoff events. It just can't display those words or images at those events. So even if UND keeps its Fighting Sioux nickname and logo, it will still be associated with the NCAA.
