I want to take a step back. Is this what most of you believe? Coach sends text, rich parent doesn't like it, goes to school and demands coach get fired or they take johnny and cash and leave school, AD acts solely because parent threatens and fires spotless record coach without any due process because school doesn't want rich parent and money to leave. I too would be upset if this is the truth and whole truth.

I should add that coaches have a tough job. overworked and underpaid - especially at Shanley. My kids graduated from Shanley but I am out of the loop - Thank goodness.. I don't miss the drama!

Thanks Irish You sound like you know a lot about what went down. Do you know if this was the sole reason Swanson was canned? Have you spoken to the Shanley administration? Swanson seems like a good coach. I don't have any inside info like you other then heresay and guessing about this being more than just this one incident? and I should add I don't know if anything I have heard is true!

A team should expect to get 4-8 rebounds on missed free throws. UND has 14 rebounds for the game. wow

Are folks assuming the parent did anything more than alert the administration? I am not tying this to any demand by parents that action be taken to the coach. I see it as the administration on their own decided this was the best course of action. Now, the parents may have demanded action but who knows? As many have said, there may be more to this story?? I doubt the size of the parent's checkbook factored into this.

How would you define a good recruiting class? If half of this years recruits start as a junior or senior would that be a better than average class? Or would you base it on wins?

Agree! I know there were quite a few folks that had some doubts about McGovern from Shanley and look at what he has done. Hard work pays off.

Thanks - we sure could use her tonight with the pace of the game. I have seen Ripplinger play in high school and she was great. She looks scared tonight. Give her some time and she will be able to contribute. I am a little concerned about fouls and stamina
