  1. Maybe this is just a learning experience. Even good teams out of the GWFC (NDSU) struggled early in a "real" conference. We do need major improvements on defense in the offseason whether its getting rid of Mannausau or not something has to change before playing Valpo in September.

This is true......the move from the Great West to the Mo Valley was a shocker as to how brutal the schedule was. UND is seeing the same in the transition to the Big Sky.

  2. Which hotshot offensive player for Montana will gash our defense next week? I think someone should put up a poll on that. That's the only thing we can entertain ourselves with at this point.

Montana is really struggling. I you could get something put together on D this could be a competative game. And it still may be even if the D doesn't get it together.

  3. That is why I think UND fans accept every other year. You have 3 games 1 is usally a FBS game so 2 games to schedule. I would like UND to schedule a Dakota team every year and keep rotating it. One year NDSU, next year USD and so on.

I do suspect that either every other year or every 3rd year will eventually work out.

  4. I am going to say it...pounding Youngstown doesn't mean you will 100% pound UND. Could it happen...maybe. I guess we will never know. I think that is what puzzles UND fans more than NDSU fans. NDSU acts like they can take anyone anywhere they are the king of the state where UND lost to Sioux Falls two years ago. So why not schedule the game? Answer...they might be afraid of the consequences surounding a potential loss. If UND upsets NDSU like in 1993 (the year the 12 year streak was broke), think of what the media, the message boards, the talk of the town would be. It could hurt recruiting. This would be the ultimate trap game for NDSU. GT wants no part of that.

In the end it really comes down to not wanting to tie up a non-conference game slot every single year. The only way this resumes on an annual basis is if there is a conference shift that throws the two teams into the same conference.

  5. You know, there might be something to that.

Not that UND would dominate. (Like, oh, let's say...62-45-3...) But, a loss would burst the illusion that NDSU has created about their program versus UND's. Re: 64-45-3

Right on buddy..........just like the illusion that we pounded the hell out of Youngstown last weekend. LOL....this is some funny stuff! Now, I am sure Muss could find somewhat of a moral victory in a game agaist the Herd. LOL!!!!!

  6. Please tell me why su people show up - and don't say it's to add to the discussion, bring a different perspective because I'm not buying that. It's a never-ending need to build up your own egos because of a never ending inferiority complex.

Oh and I'll be at the game this week (The one the Flagship School is hosting) and I'm thinking with a homecoming crowd the better UND team shows up and the defense makes just enough plays to win it.

I show up because I like football......in particular our subdivision. And, while I sure as hell am not a fan of UND, it is pretty interesting to watch and see what Muss is made of and if he can right the ship. Any football fan would be interested in that.

As to being on edge.....I would only say that all the Bison fans ought to damn well remember when Bisonville was pretty on edge and pissy not too long ago......if I recall.....Mertens was the QB.

  7. It is going to be interesting to see how Muss gets the guys ready for this game coming off that disaster at EWU. I still say that Faison was far to quick to extend Muss's contract. This game should tell everyone a lot about how the rest of the season is going to go. We are having a Bison party at my basement bar and I am going to try and stream the UND game on one of my TVs.

  8. Very classy of you Wyo!

Lynn Dorn doesn't seem to get along with male coaches. Perhaps that's a big part of the problem.

I don't know what this issue is, but obviously something is not working and it sure seems the fans are getting pretty short tempered with the performance.

  9. If we get Lennon back, I could see a lot of pressure on Muss to win because he knows who is in line for his job if he fails after his contract is over after the 2014 season.

Muss would have to hire Lennon, so I bet that would not happen. As a coach you would never put a situation like that right in your lap.
