Don't AD's at most places report to the president? I thought the AD was in charge of the athletic department and his boss is the president. Is this not the case here? Are there too many cooks in the kitchen?

Certainly it is. However, UND still could get it's ducks in a row, then fire him without granting a leave. Why does UND need the leave? Unless Bunning's actions on the job are so detrimental to the department they are that much better off without him there? Have things been that bad in the athletic department?

If, and i'm not sure this is true...if UND officials were intent on firing Bunning, then how was it in the interest of UND to grant Bunning a leave in the first place? Wouldn't they just ask for a resignation or be terminated, and deny the request for a leave? After all, a leave of absence is in itself a big deal. AD's don't just pick up a leave of absence at the receptionist's desk with a piece of hard candy.

Can it also have lines of hot chocolate and schnapps piped into each seat?....THANKS SANTA!!!!

If both teams were undefeated, it's hard to believe the two time defending champions would be on the road.

I think the bigger problem than an outgoing president is the perception that if the AD makes decisions the athletic staff objects to, the AD is the odd man (or woman) out. There's no real authority there. Few candidates would be eager for that. Or was Bunning just that inept? If so, that's a well kept secret from the general public.

Where does that leave Roger's legacy as AD then? Better or worse than Bunning?

I was at the game. Didn't seem as full as last week, but there weren't thousands empty. A 15k crowd has many rows of empty seats in both end zones and the west side. That wasn't the case yesterday. The most obvious difference that I notice in the last three games is the difficulty in just getting to the game. All the lots are full, the west field is full, and people are parking on campus. I left my house at 4:45 and didn't get in my seat until 5:45. That's a lot of waiting in traffic. Only the old Sioux games compare. On an urelated matter: If Bomar was still QB for the #3 Sooners, he would be on the heisman watch list. He was playing catch out there, and clearly is far above FCS level. Kind of like Chappell.

Bison fans' sensitivity to the ribbing they get about Bison ticket promotions' is always entertaining. OK, we get it...Bison football is drawing well. Try stretching that type of attendance from Nov-March like Sioux hockey does without giving away the tickets and we will be impressed.

Let's look at this from another perspective. What would the population of GF need to be to make a 25k seat outdoor statdium practical (see also: not look empty)? And when is the projected time frame for GF to meet that population level? This is perhaps more important than having the financing to build the stadium itself.

A nice idea, but the obstaces are far too high to be overcome without changes to NCAA policy. IMHO.

From what I read on that site, not only is there no love for SUU, but there's a level of dissatisfaction with the overall level of play from a few other schools as well.

Anyone have time for research? When was the last time the Sioux held the #1 ranking?

Don't mistake your opinion as a universal truth.

I'm not sure this year's Bison are capable of scoring 50 on anybody. A bruising RB and a bunch of possession receivers. I think UND has more offensive speed.

Why would you think "everyone" on this site would get excited about the Bison doing anything but losing?
