The Wyoming changes remind me of the San Jose game. You can say you are a power running team now, but following through on that may take some time.
-
Yes, you are correct. However, after watching the game today, it is clear they rotate a "ton" of guys at nearly every position group. They graduated a ton of seniors last year too, and much like this year there's a ton of non-seniors that are playing. Don't focus so much of the number of seniors leaving. Pay more attention to who is playing.

SDSU is in a world of hurt in Columbia, down 21-7 midway through the 2nd. Sumner is done with an ankle injury.
-
Wyoming chews up clock but drive stalls on first possession and settles for FG. Montana not getting much going offensively. Things have definitely changed in Laramie. 3-0 Wyoming late in 1st.
-
I didn't see that as part of your analysis before this game was played. The ac isn't losing until they go to UNI. Then they will return most of that team next year. Lovely.
-
That is the most accurate observation i've seen here in a long time.
-
Here's the issue offensively: -can't run the ball efficiently -new receivers can't get separation Other than that Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?
-
You have to remember, we now define "composure" as any player that doesn't quit the team and head home.
-
You are dead on. That was a very ordinary and beatable team out there. We will see two, possibly three better teams in our own conference than what we just saw out there and that worries me greatly.
-
This is year two for Joe and we can officially call this a trend. Joe is a turnover machine.
-
I really thought bubba and co would make more adjustments at half. I'll need to check the stats but it seems things got worse in the second, not better.
-
Okay...there are some things to be very disappointed in tonight no matter who is coaching this team.
-
Got to hand it to coach berg. he always makes me wonder if we are watching the same game.
-
Frustrating thing about this is SJSU is a very ordinary FBS team. The kind of FBS game you want on your schedule.
-
It's also easy to bash Muss now, but I'll have to check back on the recruiting threads...I don't recall folks around here concluding those recruiting classes stunk. Give bubba some time.
-
what, 15 plays and 80 yards? Well, it doesn't become a bubba defense in just a few weeks.
-
That was a blitz, but he had enough time to throw it away or DONT THROW OFF YOUR BACK FOOT!!! Unforced errors....
-
Joe won't last a season if they can't run.
-
I'm not moving away from my pregame expectations. Whether or not this gets out of hand, and it looks as though it will if they can't run the ball or stop SJSU, I'm just looking at how many unforced errors there are today.
-
I think this could be a two score game, but it's difficult to see what phase of the game I could identify as "no problem" for this team this year.
-
You make good points. If you are correct though, then I would need to adjust my cost/benefit analysis of the game next year. There is A LOT more riding on it for UND than I originally figured.
-
I didn't think winning our own conference games is setting the bar so high. I thought that is kind of an expectation. If the ac trumps all of that UND is in the wrong conference because a game every couple of presidential election cycles isn't gonna cut it.
-
First, I view the deal badly on it's own merits. Beyond that, UND does have to potential to gain something and so does ndsu. However, this is only because of the disparate state of the respective programs. If UND keeps it close, it will help a little. If they win it helps a lot. If the ac wins in a blowout they gain a little, but only because it confirms what people already believe. But, factoring in the bad terms of the deal, I think it negates any perceived benefit except a win. But getting back to my BSC point-winning the conference and beating the conference opponents must have the ability to do as much OR MORE than a win vs the ac, and most certainly more than a close loss. Again, games vs the ac are too rare for the BSC schedule to take a back seat. If not, let's drop the pretense and attempt MVFC/Summit membership.
-
I tend to agree with you. However, UND is in the BSC and rarely plays ndsu (even under the most optimistic scenarios) so beating top BSC opponents will need to have a lot more meaning. Playing the ac can't be the linchpin. It is too rare.
