I think it is just as likely that Faison was working to convince one or more of his top choices to apply right to the end. I really doubt it was laziness or incompetence. A lot of opinions on here have somehow become fact in most posters eyes.
-
I still will back Faison and believe he is doing what he can within the system he has to deal with. With that said.........this is really frustrating.

If this is true as reported in May 2012 by the Missoulian then he should have been sent away by the HR department. How do you defend his non-action? Or do you think it isn't true? But in January, UM President Royce Engstrom wrote in a draft of planned public remarks that then-Grizzlies football coach Robin Pflugrad had disciplined some football players accused of raping a woman, but did not report the incident to his supervisors.

I work for a large corporation (excess of $2 billion) and that is exactly what our HR department is for.
-
Agreed. Pretty disturbing
-
I agree with this. There is a lot of angst based on internet message board guesses regarding what is happening behind the scenes. We really don't know.
-
I know it is a reach but that is a reason that I would think Dale might be interested in coming back to UND. He is in an iffy situation there, he has recruiting ties here and it would start the clock again on his success or failure being determined.

I talked to a family member of Tibesar's the day after Muss was fired. He didn't know the job was open but was quick to say that Tim loves what he is doing and doubted he would be interested. It is hard to believe that Faison wouldn't have done some preliminary looking into Tibesar's interest when he posted the job. Other than rumors, we really don't know what he did or didn't do.

Are you saying the process didn't work when we hired Lennon? I agree that the process is ugly but it did result in a good hire in that case.
-
Siouxjoy explained the process earlier in this thread. HR gives points to applicants based on the criteria in the posting. Faison can interview anybody he wants to but he also has to interview anybody that has a higher point total than that person. That isn't his fault.

The American Tire commercials have become classics in my opinion. -

I don't know if I can watch that 5 star collision commercial again with the deer on the couch. Wow. -
I think the 9 were forwarded to Faison so it wasn't his choice to not include Pflugrad if that is true
-
We've regressed to arguing about what makes SU good. We need a coach soon so we have something else to talk about.
-
any read on why?
-
I'm a Bubba guy. He set Duluth up for success and I liked him when he was here. I haven't looked enough into the Pflu issues at Montana to decide for myself how much of that was his fault but it does raise flags.
-
I am and have been thinking the same thing.
-
That is disappointing
-
I agree that Pflugrad and Caruso are worth a look but not automatics either. Pflugrad bring some serious baggage with him and Caruso would be stepping up from DIII.
-
I am too and am just as surprised that Wyoming doesn't want him on the job full time for what they are paying him.
-
I am assuming NDSU will have to keep their posting open for 30 days also. Unless GT can guarentee somebody the job in the next few days before all of the apps come in I don't think it should impact our search.
-
I was told they put it to the players and they voted to have him keep coaching. I assumed that was GT's decision to do that. I don't know what the % was each way.
-
Word from the team meeting this morning is the players were asked to vote on whether or not he should keep coaching through the playoffs. They voted to have him coach through the playoffs. I am surprised that Wyoming wouldn't have something to say about that.

I guess I find it hard to believe that he was that much in demand that he could wait for Nebraska. Passing up a huge payday like he got to wait for a long shot (in my opinioni) doesn't seem like a smart move. I don't know the answer but how many high profile BCS schools have gone to the FCS level to hire a head coach? Jim Tressel to Ohio State was one.
