& They (UND) including the SBOHE made a feeble effort - Thus the People / Legislature & Governor had to step in & try to right a wrong
uuummmm..... this has all been hashed over many thousand times and we still never win. It is time to move on.

Seriously? Being a PHX Coyotes fan I guess the Winnipeg/Manitoba Whatstheirnames will become my second favorite team....What year did he graduate?
Chip graduated around 1983. He is a good guy and it is exciting to see him with a chance to bring the NHL back to Winnipeg..

It isn't what the vast majority of Bison fans want. They want variety in the OOC schedule. An occasional game.......maybe. But every year is not an optio with many fans.
That's because a majority of SU fans want to pretend they don't care about UND anymore and it easier to say they have moved on. If that was really true there wouldn't be so much Bison traffic on this site.
If you don't believe that check the comments on In-Forum whenever one of the sports guys spends any time on UND.
I say let them go and don't play them.

As much as i support UND football they have not even come close to the national and international notoriety of the men's hockey program. Fighting Sioux hockey is the premier team in the Dakotas. I hope one day we will see a slight shift towards football and basketball, but for now our hockey team is a tremendous source of pride for us and special accommodations should be made for them.
My point is still the same. The only reason you think that homefield advantage isn't important is because this doesn't impact hockey. You would change your tune if it did.
And I totally disagree that there should get special accommodations..

WCHA playoffs are not NCAA tournament games. Big Sky playoffs are not NCAA tournament games. Those games would not be impacted by the NCAA sanctions.
You missed my point. I know that WCHA playoff games aren't impacted.
The point is that most people who say that playing at home isn't important only say that because the hockey team isn't impacted by this. If the hockey team could lose home playoff games, I am guessing that these same people would change their opinion.
-
I'm not totally convinced that sanctions will have that much of an impact. As someone posted earlier, teams that won with the home field advantage were seeded higher and thus were favored to win regardless of the location of the game. I respect that others feel differently and goes to show that UND easily has some of the most passionate fans in the FCS, but honestly our team needs to have a Boise State mentality that we will play anyone, anytime, anywhere and win! A winning tradition, good training facilities, good media coverage, and loyal fan base will attract high level recruits to UND.
You can argue that we might not have a home playoff game for a while and that is legitimate. But I am guessing that you would have a different opinion of the importance of playing at home if we were talking about giving up home ice for the WCHA playoffs. Playing at home is a great advantage that you wouldn't want the hockey team to give up.

Six years ago, but if that makes you feel better go ahead. Yale hadn't won an NCAA tournament game since the 50's... until they played the sue. You should be embarrassed to even mention Holy Cross after 5 straight losses in the Frozen Four.
This coming from a team that can all the advantages that you have and still can't make your own conference tourney. UAA wasn't six years ago - it wasn't even six weeks ago.
You certainly don't have to worry about Frozen Four losses so you have that protection
-
Nope. Biggest choke was Holy Cross and you have been completely irrelevant since then.
I guess it is good to hide behind your big brother (Michigan) and stick your head out every once in a while and say - yeah, take that.
Maybe biggest choke might be a month ago losing to UAA at home in best of three.
-
Well if last night wasn't the biggest choke then which year was it? 2005? 2006? 2007? Or was it 2008? The UNH game in '09 (.1 seconds)? Yale in 2010?
Just asking.

DHG apologized. We all say and do things we regret at times. Let's move on.

I will third this post!! And he wants payment sent via Western Union money transfer. Don't ever send money to someone you don't know via Western Union (even they will tell you this).
Thanks for the heads up. I thought I was onto something good here until I saw the Great Britain address and Western Union request. He sent an email asking for payment that looks like it is from eBay but nothing shows up on my eBay account.

He was requested to come give his views on the matter. He was not subpoenaed, he was there on his own free will, as was Kelly.
To clarify my position. I am a UND letterwinner and huge Sioux name supporter. I just don't know how much wiggle room these guys have or if they need to follow the lead of their bosses.
-
Was Faison called to testify? If so, he had no choice (or face contempt).
And what choice did he have when testifying? His boss' boss told him, "Change it." His boss told him, "Change it." At that point his personal opinion isn't worth a bucket full of warm spit. He has to do what he's been directed or he's out of a job.
The Sic has it right. I don't know why people can't see that.
-
Is anyone truly surprised by this? The T&F athlete that was shuttled to Bismarck wrote a letter to the Herald about how the Sioux nickname was harming athletes (not being able to go to Minnesota meets).
Kelley's had an agenda all along - it's not been difficult to see. Last spring when Kelley was able to declare that the SBoHE had declared the nickname retired, Kelley seemed almost jubilant and smug.
Kelley's "agenda" is that he works for the SBoHE and follows their direction like most employees do who value their job. I am sure that if and / or when they change that direction he will too.
I am not sure what you expect him to do in light of the fact that the state board is his boss.

Like I've always said, "The nickname and logo will be here long after Faison and Kelley are gone."
Those two have to be looking at a different direction, or the majority will make sure they are ousted.
Today, North Dakota said the hell with Political Correct Zealots, and yes, the vocal minority of the minority
does not rule. Spirit Lake's vote does matter, vindication for Eunice Davidson, John Chaske and Standing
Rock's Archie Fool Bear. Today, Majority Rules!
Not sure what you think Kelley and Faison were supposed to do. They work for the SBoHE and were following their direction.
I am guessing that they will change their stance when the board directs them otherwise.

I am an idiot. When I went to pull these tickets thinking that they were for a committed Saturday buyer, I find out that they are for the FRIDAY GAME!! (We took care of the Saturday buyer with even better Saturday seats!, although only four for the same price due to the TicketBastard charges).
As such, we have five (5) seats for the FRIDAY NIGHT GAME in Section 120 behind the net that the Sioux will shoot at twice. Great seats. Asking $160 which is what we paid SCSU ticket office. $30 each plus a transaction fee.
Tickets are in the Twin Cities. If buying less than all five, I may also be able to personally deliver at the door. Or provide transportation to and from the Twin Cities to any takers.
Maybe.
I am interested in 3 of them. That would leave you with a pair to sell. I am also located in the Twin Cities.
Let me know if you are interested in doing that.

Looking for 3-4 tickets for Friday at SCSU. PM me please if you have any available.

Agree with Ira here. President Kelley's hands have been tied from day one on the job. He knows this isn't popular but he also knows what he needs to do. I see good leadership.
