Kinnesaw St up 14 on ETSU with under 2 minutes left.
ETSU scored TD, got onside kick, scored TD and got 2 pt conversion to take 32-31 lead with :35 left.
This would be a bad loss

I see that SCSU is having some success this year. Anybody know anything about their coach?

You still believe he was really sick?
I meant to put 'sick' in quotes but missed it.

The more the Otis news sinks in, the more and more I'm ok with it. Dixon most likely being collateral damage from it. Otis had to have been a gigantic distraction this past year. That's not taking a giant leap assuming that, benched for two games. Nobody can knock his talent, but the coaching staff just lost a huge headache. Love the RB depth.
I'm guessing part of it is him being upset cuz he wasn't allowed to travel and play after being sick all week and not able to practice.

Everyone enjoying the F'n Clown Show they made college football??
Sitting out 1 year as a transfer had a lot of value. Players didn't move around on a whim. It had to be worth it to sit a year.

Question, after the season do the coaches meet with each player and talk about where they are at, their role in the program going forward etc. etc.? Or is it just a big team meeting type of thing. Just wonder if some of these transfers could be mitigated with some discussion before they decide to transfer.
Also, if a players puts his name in the portal do the coaches reach out to them and say......hey if you don't find what you are looking for there is still room for you here. Or once they put their name in the portal is it just kind of like.....we are done with you since you have the mindset to leave.
In the old days there were 1 on 1 meetings with every player and the head coach after the season.

PWO commit Anthony Moe-Tucker is on TV now in MN HS championship game. Hutchinson putting the hurt on his team right now but he's had a nice run and a big stick on D

You must to Young. I remember this coach.
. In 1980, Pat Behrns took over as head coach. Although he amassed a record of 36–27 in six seasons leading the program, North Dakota never qualified for the playoffs nor did they win a conference title under Behrns' direction. Following a dreadful 3–8 season in 1985 that culminated in a 49–0 loss to arch rival NDSU Bison, Behrns resigned as head coach of North Dakota. He burned a lot of red shirts his last year.
I played for Pat. We had decent years for his first few years but then it fell apart. We still had some of Murph's players for a time and Pat did get some good players too but he lost the team my last 2 years and they didn't respect him. Football is really hard when your best players basically roll their eyes after the coach's speech that's meant to fire the team up.
Pat was young and micromanaged the program and all of his assistants. It was just too much and every assistant coach and athletic trainer spot turned over in the 4 years I was there. Who they recruited had to be Pat's idea. One former assistant told me this story - if they liked a player they'd show him the film but claim they were interested in a different player. They'd say - we really like #10 but check out #33 also. We think #10 can be a stud but #33 is kind of so-so. Pat would say - what do you mean? #33 is the guy we want and let's go after him. If they started with - we think we should recruit #33, he wasn't interested.
That being said - making the playoffs was much harder then. Only 8 teams made it nationally. we were 7-3 and 8-3 two of those years and would have made the playoffs if the took the number of teams they take now.

One thing we've learned on this thread is that the Hindsight Hawks would have probably been undefeated this year.

Ventrelli and Kilty are rock solid. I would guess Kilty slides to LT next season. We need to find 2 guards and a center.
Is Lotysz being counted on for one of those spots? I believe he was the projected starter at center before getting hurt

That is correct. We had to put a true freshman in at LT on the most crucial drive of the season.
and how many of them were starters last spring? I'm guessing here but one maybe?

That was well done.
On what should have been the winning drive the error was admitted and acknowledged.I don't think it is automatic that we should have called timeout after the sack. To me it's similar to when a team scores to take the lead late in a basketball game. Some coaches want to take the ball and go and not let the defense strategize. Other coaches want the timeout to get their offense set even though it lets the defense do the same. Like someone else pointed out - the big pass rusher from SDSU was out taking a breather. That is an advantage
In this case we didn't execute the play and turned the ball over. If we make the thow and catch it's a great decision. I agree with others that part of what Bubba was doing in his postgame interview was to protect the players from criticism. And in hindsight, we threw an inteception on the play so any other option could have turned out better - or not. Do people really think that not calling a timeout would have made the throw more accurate or the WR to run his route differently? I find that hard to believe myself.

Don’t want to go through the whole thread. Did Bubba get any credit on here when went for it on 4th and 1 from own 34 on drive that tied game at 21?

Supposedly he is faster than Tommy Schuster, but not quite as fast as Quincy Vaughn. That's just based on anecdotal evidence though.
This is gold.

Last one looked like it was picked I thought - we’ll at least we have them backed up. Instead Brock hauls it in on the 5 huge play

Huge run by Otis to get to midfield. I was having Missouri St flashbacks after that run. This time we closed it out.

Offense really struggling today. And fumble on 1 of 2 drives we did have

Unfortunately we aren't making the trek from TC today for the game so no Sack City sign. I should have left it with our tailgating crew. Driving in the snow not very appealing. Lucky can watch it on TV.

I was surprised at the fire that Youngstown had on their sidelines. The players and especially the coaches were jumping around with the result of most every play.
It was kind of PJ Fleck-esque

Was at the game. One of very few in the stands. I had chalked it up as a loss. We weren’t very good to start on D and same on O for 3 quarters.
one thing Tommy is really good at is finding someone In end zone when play breaks down. Happened on one TD I think and 2 point conversion -
Yep. Will be making the treck again this weekend to see the game.

We are having a rough fall with a number of close losses and nobody is happy with that. That being said, we did win the conference 6 months ago and were in the final 8 in the playoffs so it hasn't been a very long run of futility.
