I was wondering how you'd whine about something after a game like this and you did NOT disappoint.

To summarize the opinion of some on here:

"I don't care if we won 42-7 today and are now 6-3.  That damn glass is half empty."

GeauSioux is a wayyyy better authority on this than I am... but I don't think there is anything wrong (injury wise) with Brady's leg. He could kick touch backs all day long anywhere if he wanted to. I think he is simply doing what the coaches tell him to do before each kick, based on scouting and watching tapes. If there is high confidence our special teams can shut down a returner shy of the 25, then why automatically give them the 25 with a touchback? Now, granted after that it's up to player execution, from Brady to the kick-off coverage unit.. .and that was simply brutal on Saturday.

I don't have any inside info but I think Brady would be kicking into the endzone for touchbacks if he could.  He was doing that earlier in the year but leg strength can come and go during the season.  Also they can get out of sync at times and hit the ball too low so spins too fast and lose distance.  Kind of like a golf swing can get out of whack during a round.

When I was at UND we visited Denver Broncos practice on way to N Colorado.   I talked with their kicker and punter and they told me that they didn't do any kicking during the week until like Thursday or Friday during the season to preserve leg strength.   Even then they only kicked like 4 balls the first day and not much more until Sunday.   They mostly spent time spotting the ball for the O and D practice.

I just don’t see the Big Ten member school presidents giving the green light to inviting UND into the conference as an affiliate member. We don’t fit their academic profile of J. Hopkins or Notre Dame. And I don’t say this to disrespect UND as an academic institution, just from what I know about the Big Ten, that’s the impression I get.

Plus, economically speaking, how much would UND move the needle relative the Big Ten conference’s overall revenue stream? Why would they need UND to help Big Ten hockey?

I agree but when pressed my friend only repeated - “from a very high level source.”  I guess we’ll see

    B1G is trash.

I know this is an..... 'I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy' but I was told about a week ago that we are headed there eventually.  I'm not a fan of that but its what I heard.

The guy that told me is very well connected with the hockey program and he wouldn't say who it was that told him but only said the source is very high up.   whatever that means.

I imagine that the $$$ would be the draw. Within a few years each fully participating B1G school will get around $100M annually from their new TV contract.   I assume we'd be hockey only and get a small sliver but even that could be a relatively big number.

You probably nailed the expected mix.  However I think there will be plenty of empty seats judging by the number of posts trying to offload tickets.  Curious if that's the result of alot of people waiting too long and having the "holy smokes" moment when they looked for airfare.

We are coming from MSP and started looking for airfare as soon as airlines made the dates available.  Fares were really high from day 1 and only went up from there.

Anyone know of any watch parties happening in Vegas this weekend before the hockey game?

From the REA email regarding events in LV.  I plan to be there.

  7. I didn't think there were many Jacks fans at the game but when walking out I saw they were pretty well represented in the SW corner.  Many were in the upper level and with the low lighting and the dark blue shirts they weren't easy to see from across the stadium.

I’m not one for moral victories, but it’s nice to see UND play with class.  SDSU’s four second half personal foul penalties says a lot about that team.  I look forward to seeing their annual postseason choke.

And they tried for another targeting but missed him
