Maybe the fight never happened. I have seen a fight mentioned in a couple articles. Most just reference the d.c. Combined with posters on here saying its not a fight, maybe these papers are just making a jump between the d.c. charge and a fight?
-
Yup, that the one.
-
I don't know the detaila and I am not going to pretend that I do. But if one of the comments on the heralds website is true, then this might be the weakest d.c. charge known to man.

Where is the line for legit scrutiny? Or is it all legit?
-
The media actually doing something and checking the accuracy of their facts? Never gonna happen.

Would we have seen this same reaction if he would have been suspended for slashing Bucky? Something tells me no.
-
I realize that but I wish people would evolve and stop going along with it. It's not news, be it an athlete or a politician. Parts of it might be, but the incident of a whole isn't but it isn't going to stop if people don't take what the media says with a grain of salt.

Isn't that the former president of SCSU in the back?

And that why they limit her time. If it works, then all is good. I think everyone would like her to play more but they knew what they were getting, which is a dominant post player.

I think it might be reasonable to be dissapointed in the fact that he is suspended, but not the arrest itself. Being suspended hurts the team and is something that should be avoided so I can see people being dissapointed in that fact. I personally am ok even with that because I feel I should only be dissapointed if the team is and I don't think they are. I am sure others break team rules as well and so they are not quick to judge. We dont' even know which team rule he broke (it may have been curfew and I doubt we would see this reaction if someone else broke a similar team rule). As for being dissapointed in the actual arrest, I don't think we have a right to be upset beause he let our kids down or somehow sullied the great name of UND. He is a student who got arrested. Since he is an athlete, his suspension should have made the sports because it affects the team, but not his arrest. I don't believe in this new media concept that if you are important we should publish every detail of your life. Unless they publish the arrests of any other regular Joe, than they shouldn't publish an athlete's. Unfortunately, most people in this country have an IQ of a 5 year old and the media is all to willing to cater to them.

Link Looks like our friends from SC are at it again, with the support of SCSU. God Bless America.

But that would take away all of the fun...

Couldn't have said it better.

I think he was talking about the play of the hockey in the tourney, not the tourney itself.

This comes down to how you view the law. I and others see this D.C. along with last years minor charge as pretty small in the grand scheme. Others believe anything above a parking ticket is a big deal. We all have our opinions and they are different. The number of incidents he is had shouldn't matter as I think Bina's DWI was a worse offense than if Oshie would get 10 D.C.s. When they start stealing and committing violent crimes, however, now we have problems.
-
They probably would like him more if he did get in one.

While they may be laying low so far on this situation, I think they played a pretty big part in last years incident. I brought them up to make a point that this town is full of shady journalism. They have good sports coverage and some decent reporters, but the majority of columnists and opinion writers leave a lot to be desired. I just get tired of this idea that everyone wants the news to be as exciting as a reality show. Just give me the facts, treat people equally and respectfully, and try not to drool on yourself when you get chosen to give details about a story like this.
-
No, not at all. I just find them totally unprofessional, lame, and a mockery of journalism. But this really shouldn't be a surprise to me considering GF is also home to the famous Heraldo. I know GF is a small market, but come on.
-
Well whoever it is, they are right on about the WDAZ part; but then again, thats a point for another thread. O well, no big deal. He will come back on Sat and we will complete the sweep. The Oshie still has my support.

I know there has been discussion in the past about the lack of advertising and exposure coming out of the university for the sports teams and the university itself. I think we all agree that it has been lacking compared to some other nearby universities. Well as I have been watching bowl games on ESPN for the last week, I have seen more advertisements for UND than I have seen in the last 2 years combined. Sure it was that same old vanilla ad they always run, but while maybe only a small step, can we expect more improvements in this department in future months?

A happy New Year is a year in which the Sioux sweep!

i think Kangas is your man. From what I saw on Friday, Frazee was not impressive. It will be interesting to see how the team plays like when you get the players back from the WJ, but I think you will get in.

The goal I am most dissapointed in was the go ahead goal by UNH. They were changing lines and had 1 guy in our zone against all 5 of ours. Instead of making sure we dug the puck out of the corner, our players stood around and let the 1 UNH player get the puck. As soon as I saw that, I knew it wasn't going to be good and 5 seconds later they had the goal. We NEED to win that puck in that situation. We stood around way to much at the end of the 3rd. Were we tired? And if so, why? That being said, we did show signs of improvement up until the 3rd. I liked the lines this weekend. Radke played well as did others. Next weekends games should be a very good opportunity to get a sweep and get back on track.

Him saying it was basically his way of saying he won't be at this program for very long and it will be a quick stop on his climb to 1A. They seem to be ok with it so I don't see a problem.
-
I agree. In 5 years, we should only be losing to FBS. His comments after the press conference reaffirm my feeling that he only left to further his career. I don't think he will be at SIU for very long because I think he will now be gunning for 1A. If we moved earlier, we might have kept him longer but I still think he would have probably left to climb the rungs. I think he stayed so long was a testament to the fact that he wanted to get the program commited to D1.
