  1. Thanks Goon! You guys (or at least the ones I have met) are great to hang out with also. You guys are a helluva lot more fun than those Hussie fans from the Clown school. Stats has been closed for a couple of years now. Keg and Kork downtown (Combats) is a good place. The 209 Bar has a good burger, as does Keg. Corner Bar in the Nymore area has awesome burgers, as does Slim's north of town. All bars are smoke free until 8:00, so if you are a smoker, you will have to go outside. For us non-smokers, we don't have to smell like smoke during the game, which is awesome. All these place I can drive to, so I can try to give you directions if you need them. I am hoping to make it to Dagwoods before the Saturday game in Grand Forks!
  2. Serratore.
  3. The Glas seats 2399, but that is a VERY TIGHT 2399. The bleachers were put in many years ago, and the lines on there were from when people were "smaller". I actually have purchased two season tickets, just so that I can sit comfortably. It is not like I am a huge person (6'1", 210 lbs), but I have some a very LARGE twosome to my left and they only have two seats and should have somewhere between three and four. One of these days I will charge them half of a ticket for using half of one of my seats. Temps in the Glas are not that bad. I usually get by with my BSU Jersey and a mock turtleneck under it. I have never really needed a jacket or gloves and hat, except for the walk through the parking lot. I would say leave them in your car to save on space. The Fieldhouse is on campus. As you come from Grand Forks, get off of highway 2 at 197 through the city. Take that all the way east until it takes a hard right to the south. You will now be going on the west side of campus by the baseball field. Get in the left lane ASAP as the Fieldhouse turn will be on your left. Take a left on 19th street, the turn right after the Baseball Grandstand or before the scrolling marquee sign. The Fieldhouse Parking lot is on your right and parking is free. Sections F, G, and H are the end the Sioux will shoot at twice. F is around the blue line, G around the faceoff dot and H around the goal line. Have a safe trip and here is to two great games this weekend. It is great that the Sioux are visiting our barn again! And yes, I will be making the trip over to Grand Forks for Saturday's game!!!!

    BSU Saturday

Thanks for the "classy" comments redwing! We were not chanting UND, but BSU as the team was going off the ice. But take it as you wish. Most of the UND fans around us let us have our fun, but there were a few that thought they were original with their "Beaver jeers". Like we haven't heard them all before. You can thank us for creating a little noise in the arena. The only time the arena seemed to get loud on Saturday night was when we would start our B-S-U chant and the UND fans would try to drown us out.... Is it wrong to be happier with our play on Saturday than I was on Friday, even though we lost? Until next year, which will be a home and home series!!!!
  5. That 12-0 loss was from the 2002 season. The night before, the Beavers defeated Duluth in overtime at the DECC. Last year, they defeated Duluth on Friday night 3-1 and then lost at the DECC 3-2 with Sedevie in net. Here is the link to that game: http://www.collegehockeystats.com/0304/boxes/mbmjmnd1.n15
  6. It is beginning to look like it all will depend on which BSU team shows up, the one that has played on Fridays as of late (looked very good) or the one that has showe up on Saturdays (almost awful). In Sedevie's defense, he had the Saturday team show up in front of him and faced 50 UAH shots. Also, on a side note, Senior Andrew Murray did not play in the third period Saturday night after a leg injury. In the post game show, they thought it was a deep thigh bruise, but would need to evaluate it more. Hopefully he will be able to give it a go next weekend. Sophomore first liner Luke Erickson (stress fracture) and Sophomore second liner Ryan Miller (broken wrist) are also out as of right now. Goon, I am sure quite a few of us Beaver fans would show up at a local establishment if one is set up. I can post it over on my message board if needed. Heres to a good series and I am hoping you don't get Scottie's or Luckie's Beer!
  7. Just what we like to hear out of you Goon. Look past us!! Sedevie hasn't played much of late, but is suppose to get the start tonight down in Huntsville. BSU won last night 3-1 with freshman Matt Climie in net. BSU looked really good after that Niagara loss (worst game played all year) and is currently on a six game winning streak and is 14-7 overall and 9-2 in the CHA. Yeah, five of them are against CHA foes and the other against Western Michigan, but you have to play the hand you are dealt and get the job done. I am not over confident about this series. It is a series the Sioux should sweep at home. But I think this is the best Beaver team we have had to play against the Sioux. Looking forward to the series again this year! Anyone up for some pre game festivities again this year. I know I met you last time we were up there Goon. Millsy Visit "The Beaverpond", the Unofficial Home of BSU Mens' Hockey
  8. Man, I am going to be in Huntsville for the BSU-UAH Hockey series. Too bad the Football game is at 3:00 and not noon and the Hockey game is at 5:35 and not 7:00. Would have made for a nice side trip....
  9. They just had the Department of Corrections Commisioner on WCCO Radio. She said civil commitment was not an option with Rodriguez guy as he was convicted under the law in effect at the time. The judge set his release date at May of 2003 and there was little they could do even though they had some concerns about him.
  10. But it does help in recruiting. How else are the Bemidjis, UAHs, and Niagaras of the hockey community suppose to get better if they can't get in some quality recruits. It is a double edge sword: You don't deserve to be in the Big Dance because your conference isn't good enough, but they aren't going to get better if they have nothing to offer the recruits. "Yeah, you can come to our school, play out the season and have nothing to play for at the end". At least with the autobid there, you can get some recruits in by telling them they have a chance of making the Big Dance by winning the conference tournament. And please don't lump the CHA with Atlantic Hockey. At least all the programs in the CHA have committed to giving hockey a full run. None of this half a##ed stuff like only 11 scholorships, etc.
  11. This is the thing that the Beaver bench and players were arguing and I have posted over on USCHO trying to get a definite answer (but no one seems to know for sure since it probably hasn't ever happened). Here are the two NCAA rules that apply: 1. "The official shall nullify the offsides violation if all attacking players in the attacking zone clear the zone by making skate contact with the blue line." 2. "If the puck ENTERS the defending team's goal during a delayed offside, the goal is disallowed." Now, according to rule 1, the offsides should have been nullified since all players touched up before the puck ENTERED the net. Now, if it is the NHL, the play is dead since they don't have touch up off sides and a shot on net is considered dead. But I have seen college games where a puck is shot in and handled by the goalie while there is a delayed offside and play continues. I am curious on what the definite answer is. Over on USCHO, someone stated that it is when the puck crosses the blue line, but then touching up would be useless and like the NHL. Does anyone know for sure? Millsy
