  1. It's called "motor voter" gone awry. I thought Schwartznegger was going to squash that immediately.
  2. What I should have said was that the draft would be complete this week. This wouldn't be submitted for a congressional vote until next March.

    Nice fan

Yup. Home-and-home WCHA, WCHA Playoffs, and the grand opening of the Ralph.
  4. This topic came up in a conversation with my Dad (a sugar beet farmer) last night. He seems to think that this time, price support going away has a realistic likelyhood of happening. Here is a link to a Minneapolis Star Tribune article dated today: http://www.startribune.com/stories/535/4272264.html Stating the obvious, this is a huge issue for Grand Forks and the Red River Valley as a whole. I would be interested to hear what any sugar producers, Crystal Sugar stakeholders, or other members of the community think about this. Having grown up on a family farm in the RRV, it is difficult for me to be objective about this, but I will say I have been a strong supporter of free global markets in the past. I understand this may come to a vote as soon as the end of the week? Discuss.
  5. Hopefully landing Sundby last year is a sign of a new trend. Cavalier has typically been Bison country in the past where recruiting is concerned.

    BCS

I think this is a realistic possibility after the current BCS contract runs out. Take the four major bowl winners and extend the season. This would not disrupt the pomp and circumstances that surround the current bowls, such as the Rose. Television revenues could be maximized by running double-headers on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The Sugar Bowl used to be on New Year's Eve anyway. The reason I think this is realistic is the fact that there is money to be made everywhere you look, with 3 of the existing bowls becoming more meaningful, and an additional three games with all the accompanying revenue.
  7. Morley, Nice work. Thanks for fylling in for PCM.

    Queries

The seating arrangement will be jump in your car, drive to St. Cloud, and find a ticket at the National Concrete Center, where the games are at.

    BCS

Kirk Herbstreit made a good point today. As far as these conference championship games go, either have them across all BCS conferences, or don't have them at all. The current system is definitely broken. The frustrating part is that it wouldn't take that much to fix it. Do six autobids from the BCS conferences, and two at-large teams based on the BCS criteria. That would give us Oklahoma, LSU, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, and Kansas State. Bracket 'em, run a playoff within the existing bowl structure, and extend the season two weeks for the semi-finals and finals. Hell, rotate the games among seven or eight sites if needed. Fact is, we are stuck with the current system for two more years after this, and I'm not optimistic that the current system will change much after that.
  10. Thought Southwest might be a good optionn from LAX to Birmingham, but looks like it's $300 each way.
  11. Here are the keys to the hockey trivia castle www.hockeydb.com
  12. I second that. Feel free to come back, win or lose. You're a good egg.
  13. Fun question. Well, lets start with the obvious guys, currently playing: Baron, Bombardir, Johnson. There's Valk, Romaniuk with the Jets, Eisenhut (tore his knee up pretty bad at UND when he was a soph (?). Herter had a hell of a slap shot, played one game with the Isles. Duberman, Dane Jackson, Jeff McLean played a few games with the Sharks. Here's a guy I completely forgot about: Geoff Smith.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to register and contribute. Great first post.
  15. Game over. Sioux win. No injuries. Mission accomplished.
  16. As I would usually be doing. Didn't make the 300 mile drive for the U-18'ers.
  17. Just the diehards.
  18. 4-1. 5:04 remaining. Crowd approximately 6,500, smallest in new REA history.

  20. SOG 28-10 Sioux.
  21. 10:50 to go in the 3rd.
  22. Yes. Jones with a penalty. U-18 on a 4-3 pp.
  23. Thanks. I've been playing with the Dialectizer that Sprig hooked us up with.
  24. TH: "This is not an overly charged crowd. It will be different with Duluth comes to town next week, I'll tell you that."
