The people who give assists are hired by the University of North Dakota...they are not hired by the league. Same as with every other school in the WCHA.

The rumor about phantom assists at North Dakota is not just a Gopher issue. Ask around the league and you'll find many schools hold the same perception of the Sue. Right or wrong...it's a common belief.

Coach B on recruiting: "That recruit probably made a mistake by not deciding to play here". I'll take Coach A's evasiveness over Coach B's arrogance every day of the week.

Lucia has never said anything bad about the Ralph, but why would you go out of your way to praise a rival's facility? Does Blais praise Minnesota's TV contract? Yes, I heard a lot of Sioux fans say in early January, "Sure we'll finish behind Minnesota by the end of this season and we'll get bounced in the playin game of the Final Five and then be one and done in the NCAA Tournament." I do recall that. Fact is...Dubay got it right (with zero hockey knowledge), Sioux fans thought he was crazy when he said it. And finally, he'd probably be pretty foolish to make the same statement this year.

Prior to the series last year when Minnesota was looking up at No. 1 UND and Dubay was getting besieged by UND fans, he guaranteed that the Gophers would finish ahead of the Sioux....no question...and that Minnesota had far better talent than the Sioux. He ended up being right about that. Even after they split, UND fans were still outraged at his prophetic comments.

I agree with Siouxhockey03...I'm glad Minnesota's top two defensemen are hurt. Maybe they'll never be able to play hockey again. That would be great.

The top players from the ECAC and CHA are virtually guaranteed finalist status because of how the voting is set up. Each coach votes for the top three players in his conference and the top three players nationally. That's why some stiff from Colgate or Yale always makes the list and everyone always wonders how the heck did they make the list. If the writer of that article is aware of that, then his list makes more sense. If he doesn't, then he's an idiot.
