Overheard conversation between McLeod and Shepherd

What the heck, it's a bye week anyway. -
Miami only just built their rink at that.

When did Bob Johnson walk on the ice....aside from the water bottle incident. I consider that a different situation since he was trying to break up the fight. -
These are my picks now, go get your own.

Watch the video.

No they gave Oshie a shot from behind, and a knee, and Zajac returned it (to Carmen?) pretty much the same way. (Again I'm not happy about behind the back stuff, but it was pretty much proportional.) That's when Lucia jumped Zajac from behind which was completely unproportional. Pretty much how that team operates. Jump the guy from behind.

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"? Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff. Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly. Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave! Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Wow, did he have his walker down there at ice level? How did he keep up with the officials. Is he also an ABBA fan?
-
I definately agree with #5. As far as #6, you're a bit late to the party. Goon is known in Sweden as the ABBAiac!

I wonder if he was proud of his son diving on Hexstall when he was on the ice.

This incident is going to cause a major problem for the WCHA. All of a sudden you have the dirty aspects of hockey showing overtly on a team that the league has pretended for years to be squeaky clean. Three weeks ago it comes out that the coaching staff sent a player out to "get" a guy at the end of a game. Now the head coach is giving a green light to one of the dirtiest hits we've seen in recent years. Of course we all know the gophers are a cheap team. They'll hit after the whistle. They'll slash a player and run hide behind the ref.
-
Is it any wonder. They're running a business. They can't afford to put a crappy product out on the ice.
-
Thanks you.
-
That was on the pregame on Saturday's game? Is it anywhere in print?
-
Lets see, last two weeks with Gwoz at the entire game...0 points. With him out for at least part of the game....3 points. The folks at Dumbver University are probably too dumb to pick up on this trend.
-
I'd feel a lot better with those little goons out next Friday.
-
Agreed.
-
Comeon to compare the two is stupid. I notice that Carmen and Anderson both threw cheapshots at Oshie. But he gave him a little shot, not an injury. (But yeah, I'd respect him more if he did it face to face.) Notice Lucia blindside Zajac.

Just in that example, where has a sioux player retaliated for a CFB. When Robbie Bina was put out for a year we didn't retaliate until a couple players went to the pros. Even in that instance it's different because Matt Greene skated up to him and asked if he was ready.
-
When a goofer does what? When a goofer jumps another player from behind (like Schack did or Lucia last year) it's BS. (Or jumping a player when he's down like Stoa did). Standing up for a player is a different thing. Too bad you guys don't have any traditions of doing things the right way.
-
Again a bunch of crap. We would have challenged the guy to fight. Not jumped him from behind and started beating on him when he was helpless.
-
So the Gophers did the same thing and the official even blew the call. So is he supposed to get his. I think it's absolutely hilarious that the Gophers are what they've always accused us of being. And another thing, sometimes the CFB's just happen in the flow of the game. (Take when Gennoway got hurt playing Duluth last year). I didn't consider that an intent to injure and from what I can tell from the youtube clip this was pretty much the same thing.
-
What a bunch of crap. Normally I respect you as a "good gopher fan" but excusing this kind of stuff is just beyond the pale.
-
I agree with that 100%. I also didn't see anything of the game beside this incident. I read in the Red Star and Tribune that Lucia took an elbow and was out of the game. On the other hand that was called and the player kicked out. There was apparently an earlier CFB that was called boarding. However if we're out to injure a player after every blown call I don't think there would be anyone left. No, I think the title of this post says it all. The Gophers are an hack team.

If you want to take fighting out of hockey, call the game the way it's supposed to be called. In the case of last night the CFB was called so the attack on Boe was unwarranted.
