  1. Noah Scarver has reportedly committed to Montana, according to SFI. He visited UND this past weekend.
  2. RB Rashadeem Gray from Milwaukee reportedly visited this past weekend, and he's from Wisconsin, so he's presumably in Mannausau's area. Just a guess.
  3. I think Phillip Morris and Phillip Moore are well-known for different things.
  4. This is the second year in a row where UND was reportedly recruiting two kids from the same Illinois high school, and we got one while the other went to SDSU (Golladay and Charles Ellmore last year).
  5. That would be nice, but it would be surprising if Thurman commits anywhere until after he visits SIU next weekend.
  6. Sounds like a California commitment today based upon Kotelnicki and Mannausau tweets.
  7. Maybe Peters? He was a very good punter in high school anyway.
  8. So basically, right now this is the same UND team as last year, minus Mitchell and Brekke. I guess under the circumstances, the less-than-satisfactory results should not be too big of a surprise. But I have a hard time getting past the fact that with three available scholarships after last season, practically no on-court contribution was received this season from the players brought in. I'm not so sure bad luck alone completely explains that one.
  9. Sounds like Schleusner got another commitment.
  10. Allard did have 10 rebounds last night, so he is capable of making a nice contribution. But his shooting percentage is quite poor, so generally speaking the fewer shots he takes, the better.
  11. Not to split hairs, but none of those Great West tournament games were against the host school, so all were neutral site games. The odd thing is that the current junior class has actually been quite good in neutral site games--6-1. It just makes the futility in true road games all the more puzzling.
  12. Was there a third commit today? Muss just tweeted "big time commit!" a few minutes ago.
  13. I think it's a definite concern. While I am very happy about the Hooker signing, the other recruiting since the Huff, Anderson Webb class has been lackluster, at best. And there hasn't been a single big man recruited from the high school ranks since Brekke. Which wouldn't be such a big issue if the transfers signed in lieu of four-year players were actually eligible and playing...
  14. You are correct--forgot about Nash.
  15. A transfer from one division I school to another must sit out a year. So she should be eligible after the first semester next season.
  16. He didn't say in the tweet, but I assume there will be an article to follow. It's a little hard to be optimistic, though. The kid couldn't hack it academically for even one semester? Not good. Between the heart-breaking SDSU loss, Brekke's injury, the Nash saga and the Traylor situation, my theory is that one of the coaches or players found a little tiki idol in Hawaii, and foolishly brought it home. It's taboo, you know.
  17. UND has announced that Traylor is indeed academically ineligible for the rest of the season, per a Tom Miller tweet.

    coaches

I agree with the vast majority of what you've posted, but a couple of thoughts: 1. Every message board has negativity. And yes, that includes UNI. It's unavoidable. And in terms of a recruit being worried about whether a coach will still be there throughout his or her career, there's going to be uncertainty everywhere. Either a coach is on the fast track to possible bigger and better things and could move on in the near future, or else he/she is in danger of being fired. There's not a lot of in-between. It's just the nature of division I coaching. 2. UND is in a little different situation compared to most other regional dI schools in that now with Roebuck retired, we have no head coaches (aside from Hak) who have a proven record of success as head coaches which pre-date the start of the dI transition. So it becomes very difficult to know exactly how much slack needs to be cut due to all the challenges which have been faced in the past four or five years. Face it--had Lennon compiled the same record at UND as Muss has the past five years, the reaction would have likely been very different from a majority of the fanbase due to the equity he had built up. And then there's Hardee with the volleyball program. He took over a program that was floundering compared to football and probably even moreso than men's basketball, and immediately turned it into a winner. Were his challenges somehow less daunting than the other UND coaches of sports other than hockey? I don't think so, but who knows? Should Hardee's success play a role in trying to judge the jobs done by the other coaches? Another example is SDSU men's basketball. Right now, they're on a roll. But during their transition, they struggled more than did UND. The difference is, it was probably far easier to cut Nagy slack due to how much he won there as a dII coach. With Jones, we just don't know. All we can judge him on is the numbers. I personally try to avoid coming right out and saying "Coach (fill in the blank) needs to go". But I don't think there's anything wrong with stating opinions regarding reasonable expectations, and citing statistics and records which don't paint a very flattering light.
  19. Is Jones' salary at a low level because that's all UND is willing to pay for a basketball coach, period, or is it because there's no point paying more than that for a coach who is apparently perfectly content with that salary and who is not likely to be offered more by any other school? I tend to think it's the latter.
  20. I would assume at the end of the first semester next year.
  21. Jones is 88-105 right now, and this is his seventh season. There have been three seasons with a record just over .500, one with an exactly .500 record and two with a sub-.500 record.
  22. Sounds like Schleusner has done it again:
  23. From SFI: http://siouxfb.areavoices.com/
  24. Not sure. I was thinking he was a little taller, but I just looked at the NIU roster and he's listed at 6'3". I'm guessing guard, but he did play tackle in high school.
