Last year out collapse started pretty much right after the Holiday Tournament. In our final 18 games (all WCHA games) after the x-mas break, we went 6-8-4. That includes a seven game winless streak where we went 0-5-2. This year after the break we had 20 games remaining (all WCHA games) as of right now we're 7-4-3 with 6 games left. Including 4 games with the last two teams in the WCHA. As long as we take care of Mankato and Tech we'll be alright.

What about 19 year old Rick Nash leading the NHL in goal scoring.

Personally I don't think the lockout will happen. I think that a deal will be done at the very last minute. I think that the NHL has made some pretty big strides in the last couple of years, as far as popularity goes. I think with a couple of rule changes to help the scoring, it could compete with the NBA for the third most popular sport in America. As far as Parise goes, I really see him staying four years. The Devils right now are in their prime, and pretty deep at forwards. I don't see them throwing Parise into their lineup over a veteran, not now at least. I think that Parise would rather stick around here and play than playing in the AHL for their minor league squad, just personal opion though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the fan voting only count for like 1% of the final standings.

Anybody know about Adam Bartholomay, he's six in scoring in the USHL, tops for Lincoln. Decent size 5"11 194. Since UND has recruited a fair share of players from Lincoln, I was wondering if anyone has a clue on whether UND has looked at him.

Anybody know what happened to him? Is he hurt or or just getting benched

I thought Brandt played well minus that 3rd goal, but I think DB will go with Parise

I'm fairly confident by the end of the year Ziegelman will be cemented in at the starting job, which is a good thing, i hope.

I think the main issue to this is that New Jersey just won the stanley cup and buffalo finished 12th in the east. NJ has no reason to rush Parise along. As of right now they have 4 really good centers under the age of 30 in addition to Joe Nieuwendyk. On the other hand Buffalo is in a rebuilding stage and what better way to do that than with your first round draft pick. Other than James Patrick (40), the oldest guy on the team is 31. I think Vanek will fit in on this team next year, and I think he's gonna try it out.

I was just wondering who everybody's MVP is up to this time in the season. Personally I would have to go with David Hale, I realize he doesn't score much, or make headlines a whole lot. But if I where to pick one player I wouldn't want to be without in the National Championship I would pick Hale. Just curious on everyone else's thoughts

I had the honor of meeting Dave Hale, a couple of months ago. All I can say he is one of the nicest guys on the hockey team easily. My friend actually made a bet with him on who would win the Ohio State, Miami football game, he owes my friend 10 bucks.

Obviously the outcome of Friday night's game will determine the goalie for Saturday night, but just pick one anyway.

Sievebieda is done for the year he played terrible, which is nothing new, Blais needs to swallow his pride and put Ranfranz out there next week both games and watch him do well. There is no way and I mean no way Senja should have scored that third goal sievebieda was in position put for some reason he dropped his left shoulder allowing senja to shelf him. If Blais knew what was good for the team he'd start Ranfranz next week because it seems the crowd and the team is behind him and there's no way we can ride Brandt or Sievebieda to the championship, with goaltending this weekend we could have sweept but out goaltending sucked ass. GO RANFRANZ!!!!!

forecheck, I couldn't agree more. I went to the first round of the WCHA playoff's last year in Minneapolis and I wanted to shoot myself because after EVERY goal and period break they sing that god awful song.

Hrkac, I could only pick 10 players and the only players who don't have any votes are Greene and R. Hale. The only reason I picked Greene is because he's a enforcer type that I thought a lot of people would like, and I picked Hale because he's the captain. The purpose wasn't to hate on any of the players. The point of the poll wasn't to be who is the best player it's about who your single favorite player is. The whole team is the reason why we're 12-1-1 not one single player, I just wanted to see who everyone's favorite player. Notterman has played better or just as well as everyone on the team, I just didn't feel that there are a lot of people who were huge Notterman fans and thats why I left him off the poll

I was just wondering if you guys think that anybody will leave early after this season. Also i was wondering if anybody knew who all signed letters of intent to come play here. I saw the people from the ushl but i was wondering if there was anybody else

I've read all of the negative things about bringing in a new goalie at the break, needless to say it's gonna have to happen if we want to win the wcha. There's no way we can keep winning these 6-5, 7-6, type of games eventually we're gonna need a goalie that we can ride. The goalies on this team aren't bad they're just extremely inconsistent. What do you all think of bringing in Phillippe Lamoureux at the break, he's already signed a letter of intent to come play next year. Granted I would love to see Ziegelman come here, I know he would help the team and i don't think it would hurt the chemistry. Another thing is if he came here, he wouldn't be in Minnesota which would be big. Blais can't keep letting this home grown talent go to the UM.
