They may have underestimated the goalies again, but this quote made me giggle for some reason. Maybe because I'm tired. "And goalies most people serious doubted – stand and wave, Adam Hauser – have won national championships in the past."

Sadly no, I think I was more timid this year. Maybe it was the beer WPoS (who somebody mistook for my husband ) gave me midway through the game. I don't know, I think having only 7 skaters last year and a beefy POI guy to goon it up made the Sioux players want it more. The game this year was much more friendly. Anyway, I blame the score on the reffing. Actually, and this may be my own biased thinking, but I'm sure if the Sioux players all lived in the same area and could practice on a regular basis like the POI team, the game would be much much closer. It's hard to throw a bunch of guys together who don't even know each other's names. It was a good time though. Fire Chartreuse Musky Killer had a hat trick for SiouxSports, and a bunch of us went out to Old Chicago afterward for a beer and to watch the NCAA selection. I heard it tossed around a bit, but there needs to be some sort of trophy for this game if we keep doing it. If my team was playing for a rusty beer mug or something, I'd start training in May. I tried taking a few pictures during the game, but I don't have a digital camera so who knows when I'll get them developed or if they'll turn out. PCM needs to go to these games and cover the media aspect so I can focus my talents on opening and closing the door on the bench. And no team picture this year. Seeing as how the (real) Sioux only play the (real) Gophers in Grand Forks next year, it would be fun to have a warm up game that weekend in Grand Forks if enough people come to the game. Thanks to all the guys who played in the game! Even though I don't actually play, it's still fun to watch.

Of course they are! Meeting up would be a good idea. We could always crash WPoS's tailgating party.
-
Sorry guys, Blais and I have a deal. And since I still have one more long year of school left, we will just have to sit through another Canisius beating. Do you think if I emailed the Wookie he'll start growing his hair back out?
-
Was that the sign I held up during the beer song? I remember singing along with a sign in one hand and my beer in the other on the big screen. There weren't many students sitting around me in the student section, but they all got a laugh at the hooking sign.
-
I also like "On a clear day, you can see Boston from here." Or if you haven't made the "What's an Ellsworth?" sign yet. And to answer an earlier question, definitely bring the hooking sign.

The band director is not the problem.
-
YaneA, I request this one.

Just curious. Are there any Sioux fans besides me planning on coming to watch the SiouxSports vs. POI game?

One of my friend's (a Gopher fan) biggest pet peeves is that Ballard will still shoot the puck from the point after an opposing player has already gone down to block it during a Gopher power play. Of course resulting in the puck shooting out of the zone. However, the puck obviously finds the back of the net once in awhile because he is racking up the points for a defenseman. I agree with the cheap comments. Unfortunately, stick work is common right now in college hockey, but Ballard is the player I think of on the Gopher team in that regard.

I like this one. Yane, I'm sitting in my regular seats this weekend. Unlike SOME students (eh hem NorthStar), I know my priorities. You can bring the signs to us, unless someone else really wanted to hold them.
-
YES!!!!! And I have some for you too WPOS!! Count on it. I wore em last year, and this year you will cheer on the Sioux with the green beads. Good idea NorthStar!
-
Tee hee, I forgot about that. I do try to tame the swearing, I really do. But sometimes the spirit moves me so! When it was brought to my attention that Plante heard me loud and clear, I looked down and he was just laughing and shaking his head like MNS said. I told him, "Come on, you have to agree with that." Like one of my friends sitting in front of me said, there's no way I would have gotten kicked out because I am a girl. SiouxYeahYeah, yep I was on your wing. I'll be sitting somewhere in the club section for the Final Five. I seem to remember getting my intoxicated self on the big screen in last year's championship game. We'll see if I can do better this year. And by better, I mean NOT wearing WPOS's ugly maroon beads. Blech!
-
Flattery will get you nowhere! I sit one row in front of you, about 5 seats to your left.
-
That's a negative. My hair is the opposite of curly. That's the best part of the movie. How many guys cringed when they showed it stuck in the zipper?
-
Nope, that wasn't me. Should have been me, but it wasn't.
-
Sorry, I should have emailed you sooner. jk and I have been working out the money situation since I dropped $850 on my car last Friday and can't afford....anything. He told me today that he will be sending you a check. Don't worry, you won't get stiffed.
-
What section are you sitting in for Final Five?
forecheck replied to Let'sGoHawks!'s topic in Men's Hockey
Somewhere in the club level. I have no clue which section though. I'm very elusive. -
I would say most definitely. It doesn't matter the series, there always seems to be empty seats around the arena.
-
Just checking in quick. What do the lines look like tonight? Is Fabian playing again?
-
Actually, jk offered to help cover the check since I'm somewhat monetarily challenged. Unless everyone would rather send the $10 to you, I think it would be easier for one person to send the check and everyone else bring their $10 to the game like last year. Remember, I have everyone's address, so I will hunt you down for the money.
-
Bertibm, we know you have some knowledge of arenas around the cities, but obviously so do some of the Sioux fans who live around there. What's wrong with them offering suggestions?? Of those listed, I personally would say any but Columbia Arena. I don't want to want to get home extremely late, especially if we plan on going out afterward. Although I would prefer Brooklyn Park since that's where I'm staying.
-
I'm damn near broke, so it should be cheap but interesting. You up for a run down a busy road in nothing but a pink thong after the Sioux win?
-
-
diggin, we could most definitely use you. That would make 10 skaters. I'll send you an email with more details, but for now I'll count on you as being there. After deliberations and player cuts the final roster is: jk mksioux 747guy Fire Chartreuse Musky Killer and friend bacardio Kirk MinnesotaNorthStar diggin42 SiouxTupa Goalie: stuckinfargo Bertibm, I'll also send you an email, but we have a full team. I would check into the place 747Guy mentioned. An after-game drink at Sensors sounds like fun! When the time, place, and $$ are settled I'll send everyone on the team an email.
