Ouch, that's twice this season. First Hennessey calls me "sir" accidently on the Coach's Show, now you.
-
I just listened to the radio that night, which doesn't give you a good sense of what's happening and why. I was rather surprised when I heard it was Hale dropping the gloves. Thanks for giving me a better picture, friend.

I think it's funny when people always rip on the Gopher announcers. Like Sweeney and Bredahl are that much better. "And no, McMann and McMahon are not related. Rory spells his last name M-C-M-A-H-O-N, and Brent spells his last name M-C-M-A-N-N." Seriously, if I had a nickel for every time Sweeney spells a player's name or gives some useless piece of non-hockey related trivia...well, let's just say I would not be the negative thousandaire I am today. Personally I think Woog is funny, and he usually points things out during a game that I would never pick up on and that help me learn a little more about the little things in hockey. Frank is another story though. Plus, I'm looking forward to watching Pride On Ice this Thursday, since they'll talk about the Sioux. As for the series next weekend, it's looking to be tougher with every game that the Gophers play. It's mostly their nation-leading powerplay that worries me. That and the Sioux's fetish with putting themselves down 5-3. Have we had a game yet this season without at least one 5-3?? And who fights someone who is 6'7", 255 lbs with a minute and a half remaining in a game that they are winning 4-0? It should be interesting. I think the Sioux's best chances are if A.) they can stay out of the penalty box, B.) they can somehow match Prpich's line with Vanek's line again, and C.) the line formerly known as the Money Line can have another outstanding weekend. It will be how Parise got his groove back.

Sprig, is that the first time you've gotten an email from the people in charge of Dataflix? I got a pretty lengthy one myself today.
-
Minnesota is up 3-0 on Mankato with about a minute and a half to go.
-
Ok, wasn't sure there.
-
I meant as far as him taking penalties. You haven't ever seen him slash another player? Don't get me wrong, I'm as big a Parise fan as the next person, but he doesn't go entire games without giving a slash here or a hook there.
-
Come on now. Greene does earn SOME of those penalties. Just like Parise isn't quite as perfect as people like to think.
-
Is Bina getting more ice time and Greene less? It doesn't seem like I haven't heard much of Greene after his 3rd penalty.
-
5 goals? I'd say they're finding the back of the twine. Sioux are going on the PP.
-
Wow, the MTU site has a much clearer picture for me, and all they're showing right now is a picture of the scoreboard.
-
High speed cable modem through Midco. I can hardly tell which players are dark and which are white. So far it hasn't frozen on me though. I've reduced to listening to the game on the radio, and watching the blurs catch up with the voice in 20 seconds later.
-
Is the dataflix nothing but an echoing Tim Hennessey and blurs for the players? I sent my first nasty response to the powers that be for dataflix.

Bochenski scores his 19th goal. 1-0 UND
-
Sprig, no. I'm using it for the first time tonight, and was wondering if my stupidity was showing through. I can't get it to work.
-
Anything for a little publicity, eh Miller?
-
I remember that game! Pat O'Leary kicked the crap out of a Mankato player and somehow managed to declothe him of his pads, jersey, and helmet. He was naked from the waist up. It looked like a yard sale with all the sticks and helmets on the ice!
-
Not me, if that's who you're referring to. I didn't think there would be any hockey coaches on tonight since the team left last night for Michigan. Thanks for posting it.
-
Yes, but I was hardly more than a twinkle in my mother's eye back then. Unfortunately I missed the great teams of the 80s.

I agree, and I think your score depends somewhat on your test-taking abilities, not just in how smart you are. When I was in high school, there was a girl in my calculus class who was the ONLY one who seemed to be able to finish every assignment and was very book smart. I couldn't believe it when she told me she only got like a 24 on her ACT. I felt like the dumbest person in that class, and I even got a higher score than that. I think a lot of people with potential to better themselves would be turned away, as well as good athletes.

And get rid of the advertisements?! *gasp* Blasphemy! I remember the one game that they attempted to put the words to the school songs on the scoreboard, and it didn't go so well. The words came up during the wrong time during the song, and nobody sang along. It's hard to follow along with the band when they're on they upper level anyway. Otherwise I definitely think it would be great if we could get the entire arena singing Fight on Sioux. The old arena was great. I still think back to the last game played there against the Manitoba Bison, with one of the greatest fights I've seen in college hockey.

Geez Schmidt, do you tape record these meetings? Thanks for the info.
-
I know you guys poke fun, but seriously. Rawr!
-
Nope. After skating in the Olympic rink I dropped by the main lobby to see how many people were there, and decided no way in hell am I waiting that long.
-
According to Parise on the Postgame show, he got hauled down and got a skate to the chin/neck area. In watching the tape around when it happened, Parise had possession of the puck and was hooked down, got back up and still had possession of the puck, had a UAA player humping his back, and finally got a bear hug from behind that brought him down on his back. He basically got mugged and hauled off his feet 2-3 times before the call was made. I thought it looked like he had gotten a stick up near his face the first time, but according to him that's not how it happened. It wasn't just a little bit of blood either. I sit behind the penalty boxes, and Parise came up to Mason with blood all over his face and dripping on his jersey.
