I remember back in high school hearing how the hockey players HATED the cheerleaders because the toe picks really mess up the ice. Anybody else heard that?

The interesting part is that NDSU says it was 7-6 UND at half, and UND said it was 7-7 at the half.

Why even sign and wait to become a free agent? They could just stay at UND for four years, then if they're not signed after a certain amount of time after they finish school they automatically become free agents. Then they can sign with NJ a lot sooner than waiting for a contract to expire.

KARE 11 (in Minneapolis) just did a short story on him winning. They showed 2 or three goals that he scored, all agains the Gophers. You wouldn't think they'd want to disgrace their team like that. Anyway, good to see more regional recognition.

Well, I was hoping his winning the award would make Sportscenter's Top 10, but it didn't. Although, right at the end of the broadcast they plugged the championship game for tomorrow, and at least made mention: "North Dakota's Ryan Duncan won the Hobey Baker award, college hockey's Heisman." Better than nothing, I guess. I suppose I should have expected that some guy dunking a basketball MUST be more worthy of a top play than recognition of a player's year long accomplishments.

Ah, Irony. When the Gophers won in 2002, only the oldest member of the team, Nick Anthony had even been born. Come back in 2023 if the Sioux STILL haven't won #8.

When your dad tells you to stay, after your dad has been through the same thing you have, usually you listen to him. I predict Chorney wears the "C" next season.

Do you see Brown or Ehn as the best player in college hockey? Duncan has done just as much as either of them, or more, and been perfectly consistant all season and deserves to win. Maybe Panzer, Blake and Parise do fit the "mold" that you look for, but they were up against tougher competition in their respective years. This is Duncan's year.

There is no required HD date, but a "digital" date. All over-the-air broadcasts will be required to be digital, instead of analog. That's the broadcast format, not the quality.

I also rode with them for the Final Five. It was 04-05 (I believe). The 5-4 loss to the gophers in the championship game. Anyway, it's quite a ride. The keg was tapped before I got there at 6:15. As soon as the bus hits the road there's somebody going up and down the bus isle with a pitcher filled with beer filling people's cups. Definitely a fun time.

They already have to cover up advertisements on the boards, so they could easily cover up the lines and put new stickers on. The part I think would be a problem would be drilling into the floor to place the net moorings. Unless they still exist from before the NHL reconfiguration.

I think it did prevail when Porter skated right around him to score the game winner.

Did Lucia let anybody finish asking a question before he jumped in with his answer? They did mention the hats, Hakstol and Phil had them on forward. Duncan and Porter had them on backwards. I also heard Jones's name but not sure what about.
