  1. I don't think it's possible put heat on Toews. He's too level headed to take any pressure from anybody about anything.
  2. I look it at like this, it probably wouldn't affect whether or not Toews signs, but rather this guy may have signed BECAUSE Toews decided not to sign. Toews is definitely their top prospect, so they wouldn't take a lower guy and then have Toews worry that he wouldn't get playing time because of that. Hope that made sense....long day at work.
  3. Sarcasm, I know, but just FYI, drinking age is 18 in Russia, so he just barely passes.
  4. Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best, right?
  5. It's so hard to argue that he should come back next year with his success in this tournament. It's almost depressing because there's no logical argument for him to stay.
  6. Apparently Oshie played a season in the USHL before coming to UND.
  7. Parise with 1G and 2A, and Zajac with 1G in the Devil's loss to the Senators tonight in the first game of the best-of-seven series.
  8. This is because the band is told to play by the guys in the booth at certain times. When the students start questionable chants, that is one of those times.
  9. I remember back in high school hearing how the hockey players HATED the cheerleaders because the toe picks really mess up the ice. Anybody else heard that?
  10. Friendly suggestion: Use proper capitalization, it makes it more pleseant to read.
  11. The interesting part is that NDSU says it was 7-6 UND at half, and UND said it was 7-7 at the half.
  12. Why even sign and wait to become a free agent? They could just stay at UND for four years, then if they're not signed after a certain amount of time after they finish school they automatically become free agents. Then they can sign with NJ a lot sooner than waiting for a contract to expire.
  13. KARE 11 (in Minneapolis) just did a short story on him winning. They showed 2 or three goals that he scored, all agains the Gophers. You wouldn't think they'd want to disgrace their team like that. Anyway, good to see more regional recognition.
  14. Well, I was hoping his winning the award would make Sportscenter's Top 10, but it didn't. Although, right at the end of the broadcast they plugged the championship game for tomorrow, and at least made mention: "North Dakota's Ryan Duncan won the Hobey Baker award, college hockey's Heisman." Better than nothing, I guess. I suppose I should have expected that some guy dunking a basketball MUST be more worthy of a top play than recognition of a player's year long accomplishments.
  15. It's hard not to notice that Porter still has his jersey on......
  16. Ah, Irony. When the Gophers won in 2002, only the oldest member of the team, Nick Anthony had even been born. Come back in 2023 if the Sioux STILL haven't won #8.
  17. When your dad tells you to stay, after your dad has been through the same thing you have, usually you listen to him. I predict Chorney wears the "C" next season.
  18. Do you see Brown or Ehn as the best player in college hockey? Duncan has done just as much as either of them, or more, and been perfectly consistant all season and deserves to win. Maybe Panzer, Blake and Parise do fit the "mold" that you look for, but they were up against tougher competition in their respective years. This is Duncan's year.
  19. HEXTALL's almost as bad as SCSU fans chanting "We're still second!"
  20. I'm just getting music.
  21. There is no required HD date, but a "digital" date. All over-the-air broadcasts will be required to be digital, instead of analog. That's the broadcast format, not the quality.
  22. Finally all that law schooling is put to use!
  23. Perfect thread. Just found this: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=298549
  24. I've heard the same thing about the difference in taping your stick with white tape or black tape.
  25. Words can't explain how much I'm looking forward to watching the Sioux in high-definition.
