I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed that. The last one I saw had our guy completely out of the crease (he had just skated through as the whistle was being blown), and after clearing the crease he took a shot from a UMD player.

As far as I understand, yes, just a week or so, of training camp. Seems to me like the best training facilities would be top of the list when it comes to choosing a place to practice.

It's not all moot, though. If they are going to be somewhere other than "home" for training camp, why wouldn't they want the best of facilities to train?

Being that it's the Minnesota Wild means it would make just as much sense to go to REA as it would to go to Kohl Center. Except when it comes to training facilities, REA has most places beat. Or is it common to have a 10,000 square foot weight room?

That's what I thought, too. The RNC is Sept 1-4, and the hockey season doesn't start until the end of the September at the earliest. I can't imagine it would take longer than that to convert the boxes from TV studios back to suites.

I'm sure the players would enjoy the facilities offered right at the arena. They seem to enjoy playing the exhibition there every fall. Except for scheduling conflicts I don't know why they'd pick anywhere else, except travel time/distance to deal with.

I seem to recall that it used to be that "bad wins" actually hurt you during the regular season, and were only negated during conference playoffs, since the best teams are playing the worse teams. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember the asterisk showing up throughout the entire season in the past.

Remember how hard the trips to Alaska always are. Tough to play UAA in Alaska, and it always makes the following weekend difficult as well, it seems. Plus, they've still got guys recovering from the walk back from the World Jr Tournament.

Just bringing this back up to remind those on the roster to let me know if they can't make it. I'm still holding steady at keeping the roster at 15 skaters. No more. I played last night and we had 10 on the team and that seemed like it was about as many as you'd want. We can manage 15 if we make sure to rotate lines pretty often. Keeping everybody fresh and keeping ice time even.
