  1. Oh cupcake, I really appreciate having you around. You get so wrapped up in your own utopian ideals and get so angry when others don't appreciate your viewpoints. If it makes you feel better, I do find you and your ilk rather amusing. Please, keep up the good work.
  2. I love you too sweetie.
  3. okay, now people argue that the nickname just opens the door wide open to racism... and comments like this can easily be stated that they've been caused by the nickname debate... how can you all say you're being respectful towards native americans? what a bunch of b/s.
  4. I agree. I tend to enjoy watching, and keeping tabs on, premier hockey programs, even if it is Minnesota, regardless of what some of the parochial-types arounder here think. As for the brawl, Brownlee is a real punk.
  5. Umm ... Code Orange today. Florida State University, whose teams are called the Seminoles, decided they had to have a secret meeting to determine an alternative team name in case politically correct pressures forced them to change the name. The university trustees met one afternoon and argued different choices half the night. Finally, at 3 a.m. they agreed on a new alternative name for their teams: The Florida State Bingo Casino Executives. Linky
  6. I really wish Jim would "card" these noobs. I hate coming in here and feeling like I've stumbled into a short bus making an express run.
  7. So, from the Stupid's point of view debate equates to "division". Typical of the name change mentality. Anybody who questions or opposes a name change creates division. Moreover, it's not the Sioux name/logo that created this division, so much as the narrow, intolerant objectives of a certain, tiny group of people who think they should dictate others' thoughts, values and beliefs.
  8. Which we all know is infinitely more credible than "This one guy in my class who heard it from his third cousin's best friend's brother who passed through UND on his way to Fargo about 20 years ago."

    Sioux-per?

But I doubt roadside stores are fighting to retain their name/logo, and making public statements about "respect" and "honor" with regard to American Indians. Moreover, if that's the best UND/REA marketing folks can do to promote products, they should be fired.
  10. Meh. You're not old unless you have a sudden urge to yell at the neighborhood kids "Get off my damn lawn!" ... Almost did that myself.
  11. Because their views, which are their own and which appear to go against the whines of the bedwetters, are seen as "uneducated", "racist", etc. Russell Means referred to them as "idiots", well when he wasn't beating his wife on a Navajo reservation. gk referred to them as "hang around the fort Indians". If they were black, I'm sure their so-called leaders would refer to them as "Oreos" or "Uncle Toms". Apparently, diversity of thought really doesn't mean much to some people.

    Sioux-per?

Ya know, as a practical matter, I think that if UND and/or REA still use "stylized" Sioux-related names for merchandising it undercuts the argument that they're using the name with respect.
  13. Anybody who thinks Doreen Yellow Bird is a credible source for anything beyond delusional whining really needs a reality break.
  14. Ostensibly, the Civil War, or "the War of Northern Aggression" as the natives call it around here, was concerned with states' rights, economic differences between north and south, etc. However, waving around the Southern Cross isn't likely to provoke debates about industrialization or federalism, so much as create hot-button issues related to race, slavery, etc. Regardless of what the SCV and NC$$ think, UND's battle has nothing to do with Confederate "ideals" or the Stars 'n Bars.
  15. Frankly, I'm not sure I would want to be tied in, directly or not, with this organization "SCV". All we'd need is a bunch of skinhead and KKK freaks protesting the NC$$ wearing Sioux garb.
  16. Well, she is a woman ... /runs
  17. I think Wisconsin is a hypocritical shiat pile. If they had the strength of their "convictions", they would leave any league that "required" them to play teams with names/logos that are deemed "offensive" by a tiny group of loud-mouthed bedwetters. Obviously, if there's money on the table, they'll whore themselves out. Just like these guys. Linky
  18. Oh, really? Based on what study, poll, survey, etc.? I think this idiot is channeling "Dr. Stephanie".
  19. Classic.
  20. Since Chicago just dumped their coach, Linky maybe the new guy will think that way. Maybe you should apply for a job there.
  21. ZPar is currently the Devils' points leader with 18, and is tied with Zajac in the +/- rating at +3.
  22. Excellent service. A nice way to keep up on the Saturday game while I was stuck at some sit-down charity event. Thank God for open bars.
  23. Shiat.
  24. Nope. Next stop Qunnipiac.
  25. Come on, finish this with a W.
