JPL got boned! Maybe this will be more incentive for the boys. Us vs. the world with something to prove! Why didn't this hit the Hobey website first? There must be a mole in the Hobey selection committee.
-
This is from the Hobey website. Hobey Baker Award Ceremony A staple of Frozen Four weekend every year, the Hobey Baker Award Ceremony takes place on Friday, the day before the national championship game. This year the Hobey Baker Award will be presented at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO. This year's Announcement will be televised live nationally on ESPNU beginning at 5:30 pm, Mountain Standard Time, on Friday, April 2, 2008. I am not sure but I think this was suppose to read Wednesday April 2. If that is the case, we can expect the announcement to come throught ESPNU. Should air in a couple of hours!

I like the bandits stache' but like the "Trans Am/Bandit" jacket even better! Burt is a stud! To get back on track what time does the Hat Trick get announced?
-
I like your rationale! Be warned, you might get bashed for moving VV off the Kaip/Watkins line and for inserting Radke in the line-up. I thought the kaip line was playing well defensively, but had got a little stale in the offensive zone. Frattin did assist on Kaips goal on Sunday, which was nice to see. That said, I can see Hak having 17, 20, and 29 back together come the start of the game against BC.
-
Hopefully you won't and he won't play with Osh and Dunc.
-
Back off man! I try to be as PC as possible on this site. When I have been tough on players in the past, I was blasted for it. Miller has played much better in the second half of the season. The reason I started this topic in the first place was due to the fact that I thought Miller has stunk it up with Oshie and Duncan. He was much more effective with Frattin and Martens! When Trupp is healthy, Miller is the odd man out! Don't want to throw him under the bus more than that!
-
Hak said that Trupp will play next week on a radio interview this morning. I have been against the extra week between the regionals and the Frozen Four. This year I am all for it. Sure its sucks for the fans and can have adverse effects on teams that are riding some momentum, but this year it will help us heal some of the bumps and bruises our team is dealing with. Sure it has been mentioned before, but has anyone else noticed the extra padding under Osh's breezers that protects his hip. This extra few days should help him get back to 100%.

It only took those boneheads three replays to figure it out! Both were equally as important and both had extra storylines. Porters comes in OT against the goofers a week after we lose to them in similar dramatic fashion. Kozeks comes in OT against the badgers in there backyard. This also is the result of being placed back on the line with Oshie and Duncan. IMO right now this one is a tie, but Kozeks will edge out Porters if the boys can finish this year!
-
Trupp will play, so I agree with everything you have here with one exception. Malone could be in over Miller. Martens and Miller have both done a nice job down the stretch!
-
They got us a championship (2000). It was great to listen to Moriarty eat his words in the third period! Only thing Jack Edwards screwed up was when he called us South Dakota. I can still hear Edwards say, "and that will end it" when Lee Goren stole the puck from a BC d-man and fired it into the empty net! Gary Thorn is a great play by play guy so I am glad he is calling the game.
-
Yep! We won because Kyle was benched. That must have been the reason. Thanks for helping me understand!
-
I agree, but I like that play of Marto over Lapoint over the last month and a half.
-
We cheer for the Sioux and believe it our not, we don't control their games.
-
I thought our PP looked very good on Saturday!
-
Barry Melrose was going crazy when teams were using forwards for defensemen on the PP. I admit I am not that crazy about it either. We have the luxury of generating alot of offense from the point with our talented defensemen. I also hate BC. There were alot of people earlier in the year pulling for BC to beat UNH to help us in the PairWise. When I stated that they were crazy (to cheer for BC and that it was too early to worry about it) I was blasted for it. Well to all my critics, Are you still pullin for BC???
-
The first penalty, Radke was a little over-aggressive but I believe he was trying to set the tone for the rest of the team, who were very stale at that point in the game. The second call against him was BS. Say what you want about Kyle, but our team is 18-4-4 this year with him in the line-up. He adds more to the team than most people can see. He is a veteran guy and this will be his fourth trip to the Frozen Four. No other player on this team played in the previous 3 FF's. I hope he plays and I hope Trupp is healthy enough to play as well.
-
He did a decent job tonite. Was refering to the BS elbowing penalty last year on Finley against BC that killed us in the FF!
-
Oshie is a great center! That is where he plays when anyone other than Vande is on the line. Proof is in the product! Osh/Dunc/Kozek produce way more than Miller.
-
Shegos is thinking, "Damnit, I blew my opportunity to screw UND this year!"
-
If we skate for 60 minutes a game in Denver, we will be fine! My only fear is that the boys get too complacent with Lammy in goal. He is unbelievable right now, but that won't be good enough against BC. If they can't get motivated by playing BC, nothing will motivate them. That said, BC played a similar game to what we did tonite. They had 2 minutes at the end of the 2nd period where they scored 3 goals. Unlike us they were outplayed in OT, but got it done. Their experience and the choke collar for Miami won the game for BC.
-
I agree! Reminds of the 2000 team when Commy and Goren came back to bring home the title!
-
Amazing how our fortunes changed once #10 was added to the TJ/RD line! Phil kept us in the game until the lightbulb switch to the on position in Haks head! Our captain had a big game and that was nice to see. I said earlier that he needed to step-up in tonites game, like Porter did last year in the regional. Let's get healthy and keep our eye on the big prize!
-
Lammy, Gerbe, and Porter the Hat Trick. Porter will win. Lammy solidified his spot in the top three in the regional. UND MVP is Lammy this season. Without him, we would have been cooked this weekend. Give Porter the Hoby! Our boys have their eyes on a bigger and better prize. To hell with BC, we owe them!

That John Denver was full of S$!t, man!
