Enough of the logical thinking, you're all bison trolls if you disagree with the great and powerful oz!  I mean siouxvolley.  Pay no attention to that dimwit behind the curtain.

Please debate the topic, not attack other posters. Thanks.

    Fire Hak?

Let's just say it's been fun cheering for a team that's up against a Hak playoff team.

In all seriousness, no team is more likely to blow so dominating a 3-0 lead than the Caps. So, Philly fans shouldn't worry until it's over.

  3. How is there not already a general playoffs thread?

Anyway, tonight's win marks the first time in franchise history the Caps have taken a 3-0 series lead in a best of 7. Somewhat shocking given they've had 2-0 leads 7 times, and hopefully a sign that they've shaken off the demons.

Flyers (and fans) completely lost their composure in the 3rd, allowing the Caps to run up the score. Makes you wonder if the coach knows how to coach in the playoffs ;)

  4. I'm a little surprised that with a UND win it's only a 5-way tie, but congratulations to:

    UND1981 / stack / nhockey30 / ringneck28 / bigskyvikes

Each not only missed just one game, but all missed the same game, picking St Cloud St to win its opener!

  5. Huh, not penalizing the goals against really simplifies the strategy. Trying to pick a goalie that was going to exit early but without giving up too many goals required some tradeoff between the two factors. Now, the strategy for all players is just pick ones that are going to go deep.

    No.

No other hockey on tonight, eh? ;)

I'm a pessimist - I would've said probably tie, no, and no. Ovie's been hot lately, but 3 goals in 3 games is still a tall order.

But you're right, I probably will have to turn away at 8:30.

DET cements the 25th post-season bid in a row with a win tonight. Might be a good game to watch if there's no other hockey on. ;):D

Like the Pittsburgh/Caps game... will Holtby get the all-time goalie wins record (in a lot fewer starts than the incumbent)? Can Ovie average a goal per game to break 50 once again? Will the Penguins miss the playoffs for the first time since Syd's rookie season?

I was in a state of panic.  Where will all the die-hard Sioux fans go when the forums are down?
    Aaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh!!  ;)

My fault entirely, I normally never would've started an upgrade as I was walking out the door, but I overreacted to it being labeled an urgent security update.

The good news is that during the downtime I doubled the memory on the web server, so there's a better chance the forum will survive the meltdown if the Sioux lose.

  9. And... we're back. In a stroke of extremely bad luck, the forum software vendor pushed out an "important security update" (so I let it run despite the inconvenient timing), but the update got botched.

I didn't immediately realize it had failed, and once I did I had to reinstall the whole forum. Sorry for inconvenience. At least it wasn't tomorrow :)

Interesting..I was able to do this in Philly at the restaurant inside the arena. It was crazy and damn near impossible to get in but was awesome. I never imagined another FF would have something like this.

In Philly it was possible to leave between games, run up to that adjacent bar complex, and come back for readmission. It involved leaving through the right door, but was definitely not limited to a closed in smoking area or anything like that. I didn't make the previous Tampa, so Philly is actually one of the only places I remember getting away with that.

Was there only one game today?  That's the impression one would get from the leaderboard.

It doesn't update from the scores, I have to punch them in. Will do so a couple times per night.

Is anyone else having problems getting into the threads?

If it just started in the last couple days, I would again suggest cache issues. There was a modest forum upgrade the other day, and while 99% of the time web browsers do just fine and request the new URLs, for some reason some hang on and keep trying to display the old one.

Maybe it's the culture of the fans and media. High expectations and a media guy following their every move.

Maybe the pressure is too much. There's wasn't nearly as much pressure in the late 90's and 2000 when they last won one...or for the last few Champs.

It's the forum. I started the forum in 2001...

    Ok, it's actually REA.
