  1. You are right on with Hammy. What pompous ass. Totally agree with your sentiment about the "local" games. I'm really going to miss going to games in SC and Mankato, as well as the Final Five.
  2. I get that. But I don't think they deserve much slack for it. In the end, they made a decision that they had to make, and if that was harmful to others, they still bear responsibility for it. I think, as you say, it's easier to understand why they did what they did, but they are still responsible for starting the process.
  3. Seems like the NCAA got into the Big Sky's ear. Also, they said they would support the wishes of the Native American tribes. The inference is that the tribes don't want UND to use the nickname. Yet that's not the case with Spirit Lake, and we pretty much know the will of the people in Standing Rock. Of course, the official position of SR is against the nickname, but that only makes it a 50-50 deal in that context.
  4. Their winning percentage goes up? Mommies get fewer phone after-game phone calls? Face-washing grows in stature as a method to stand up for one's self/teammate? McLeod has less game tape to review on Mondays?
  5. Love it if you are right but I don't see Rodwell in the top 6. Rowney, maybe, though. I like Rodwell and it would be great if he stepped up to that level for next year. I just see Rowney as more offensively capable at this point.
  6. Isn't that kind of like if a tree falls in the forest but no one is there does it make a sound?
  7. Stick the "North" inside the "D".
  8. I would guess the Geronimo nickname has more to do with how he has evaded capture for a very long time and less with the whole "enemy of the state" thing. Perspective, please.
  9. I'm not sure which of these forum rules you directly violated but what you posted was disgusting. Stop with that now.
  10. I'm a big Rowney guy. I think the guy is a sleeper. He won't replace Frattin, but I think he's going to play a big role next year.
  11. I wish I could be as optimistic as the some of you.
  12. I've been wondering if the new president was willing to give talks a "go" until Franklin and the Policy cronies got in his ear and said "WHOA now, what are you doing? We don't have to meet anyone half-way".
  13. Wow, thanks for posting this. And thank you to PCM for doing the work. I knew the Sioux dominated the game but these statistics really round out the picture.
  14. Well, you should so that the masses of internet experts will know what's going on. Never looks prepared? Like beating Denver 6-1 in the regional final? Maybe Hak quit preparing once they got to the Frozen Four.
  15. there's no doubt the power play didn't work well in that game. I don't know what the reasons are or if that was coaching or Michigan executing or Sioux players clenching their sphincters too tight. I don't know. I know that the Sioux were all over Michigan in that game but couldn't get the right shot off at the right time. I'm not going to blame a coach if the only thing that didn't go well was the power play and shots that couldn't find open net. No team has a perfect game plan, and no team executes perfectly. Some do better than others, however, and there is luck involved as well. We know Michigan executed very very well. We know the Sioux executed very well except for their PP. I believe Michigan got luckier than the Sioux. I'm not going to nitpick the PP and rip the coaches for it. I'm just not. The Sioux played well enough to win this game and they just didn't get the puck in the net. I really think that's what this loss all boils down to.
  16. WAY TO GO UMD!!!!! I'm happy for UMD and their fans except for a couple of them. I'm way happy for the UMD fan who sits 2 rows behind us at the Final Five every year. Wish I could shake his hand right now. Yep, kind of sticks the knife in again a little bit, but I'm happy for UMD.
  17. I'll miss all of the seniors. I already do. They all had good abilities and were contributed in their own ways. Thank you to ALL of you seniors. It was fun watching you for these 4 years. You will be missed!
  18. Wow, that doesn't make any sense to me from my vantage point, but I think that would be great for Tech.
  19. I'm trying to figure out where that concern about Sioux fans came from.
  20. What, Simpson is going to leave the program now because he's pissed about his playing time? I'll bet it was made pretty clear to him coming in he would have to earn his spot on the ice. I'll bet his Dad is familiar with having to earn ice time in the big show too. And now, when there is plenty of opportunity to play next year he's going to walk? IF that's really the case, good luck to him. We don't need that attitude. However, my guess is that isn't the case. My guess is he's a big part of next year's team. And a welcome one at that. As for Kristo not going to class, I heard that too. From about the end of January to some time in March. I don't know about anyone else but I read his interview in the Herald, and if I recall correctly I think he said he even missed going to class. I don't know what Kristo's plans for next year are, but I bet he hasn't just quit going to class and made the decision to leave already.
  21. It's fantastic to hear the Nick is having his last treatment. Continued good news to you all. What a great post, The Greek. It really puts things in proper perspective. We are lucky to be fans of the best college hockey program in the world.
  22. This thread was obviously started by Mighty Quinn for the sole purpose of trolling. I should have closed it earlier.
