  1. I don't think the "Ho" has gone yet. I'm supposed to be staying there in 2 weeks for the AA series. If you hear it has gone, someone please let me know!!
  2. Sorry, Phillyboy, I can't help you with GF. I haven't lived there since school in 1987 and the Spud has been long since closed down....hmmmm, buck pitchers on Friday afternoons....... I bought scalped tickets outside Mariucci last year for ุ/per. The year before that it was ฮ. This year it could be a hotter ticket, or maybe not so hot since the Sioux are not playing quite as well. We'll see. Thanks for the info. ๑ is pretty steep for me. I'll probably take my chances. I'm 38 and married. You are a wuss.
  3. PhillyBoy How did you get your tix to the Gopher game on the 5th? I called the Gopher ticket office weeks ago and was told they were sold out. I'm planning on going as well but assumed I'd be paying a scalper. Ticketmaster??
  4. I'll be up for my first games in January for the Alaska series. I see game time is scheduled for 7:35pm. Can anyone tell me what time doors open for regular ticket holders? I think I want to get there pretty much right away to check out the arena before game time. Also, since I'll be there all weekend, are there any tours of the arena one can take during the day on Sat. to maybe see parts of the arena you can't see while watching a game? Also, I'll be going to the games in Duluth in Feb. I have never been to the DECC. Anyone have advice on where or where not to sit? Thanks
  5. You gotta give Blais credit. He desperately needs a goalie and he snaps his fingers and there is a goalie. And from the numbers and what little I have read on him, he looks like a pretty solid goalie. We'll see if he can be consistent and step up another level. He comes from Waterloo, so hopefully Blais is getting good dope from Koberinski. Also, Andy Kollars dad is the goalie coach at Waterloo. One would have to think that the Kollars are not blaming Blais for Andy's problems, or else Frank would find a way to send signals to Siembida about his choice of schools. Either that or Frank knows that Seimbida is really a flash in the pan and so he encouraged him to go to UND. But I purely speculate and choose to believe in the more positive side of the argument. I'm happy for how our goaltending is looking at this time. Brandt is playing well at this time, and Seimbida looks like he could be a solid contributor.
  6. I think I read a post somewhere that Lundbohm was not going to MI for the GLI. Does anyone have information on how he is coming along and when he can return?
  7. If the news and hype in Siembida turn out to be true this is real good news for the Sioux. Here is a bit of nice news on another Sioux recruit (well maybe. I've heard Fabian has and has not committed. We'll see.) http://www.ushl.com/ushl0102/pr/potw1217.shtml Fabian wins offensive player of the Week in the USHL. Good for him.
  8. This should shut up the WI posters on the other board who said this was a legal hit.
  9. I don't know what it takes to win face-offs but if practice helps I hope Blais is drilling them.
  10. Cammalleri, Helminen and Komisarek
  11. Anyone have thoughts on the GLI? If I read right, the first games are UND/UM, and Tech/State. I would predict State would win that battle, and you have to give UND a chance to beat UM because they are losing 3 good players to the world junior? tournament. In addition, they are somewhat like the Sioux this year in that they have a young team. That being said, I would say that the Sioux have a good chance to have a top 2 win. State might like to take a bit of revenge for the Frozen Four loss from last year, so they would be hyped I think if the Sioux should win. I'm predicting: State Sioux Tech UM How about that?

    New Goalie

I checked their message board to. It seems their info came from the article in the Herald. So I think they heard about it when we did. Or about the same time. I would guess that he has not or will not be committing at this time, based on the absence of news. At this point, if he is a very good goalie and they could get him to come in next year, that would be fine with me.

I'm guessing because we haven't heard anything that this goalie is not committing at this time. Does anyone know any updates on this situation?
  14. While it may be annoying to deal with these problems, we appreciate your hard work and dedication to providing this forum for us. Thank you!

    Topics gone?

I had to load the hockey forums page about 3 times before it showed topics.

Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?
  17. My internet feed has been better this year than other years by far. Certainly it is not perfectly clear, but I have no problems understanding the play-by-play. The times I have problems is during interviews when you have someone who doesn't speak very distinctely. I have Windows Media Player that I listen to the feed on.
  18. Blais was not happy with the team's effort after the game tonite. He said this team has not learned to have a consistent effort and probably does not deserve to be an upper 5 team in the league. He was happy with Jake, and seems like he has confidence in him right now. But very unhappy with the effort of the forwards. Thank God Schneekloth came through with a couple tonite to bring home a W. Maybe we can pick up another tomorrow night and start building something.

Hmm. Brandt has a 2.0 GA and if you take away the EN goal, he's got a 1.5 GA in the last 2 games. Not shabby. AFter the game Blais said "I think maybe we've found a goalie". He said Jake has the respect of the team now. 2 games is too soon to know, but it's a good start.
  20. No, you are "Ther Professor" I agree. Whereas I am frustrated in Andy's play, no one is probably feeling worse about it than he. I hope he can pull his game around quickly.

Goon, I agree. I would our current goaltending situation would be attractive to a goalie. Why would they give up half a year of eligibility? Good question. But, if he went to another team, he might sit the first half year waiting to get chances to get on the ice. Look at Bruckler at WI. I think he's going to be awesome. Here, he #### well could be at least rotating by the MN or AA series. If he is real good he could be the guy. Remember Schweitzer came in at Christmas, and I am wondering if Belfour didn't as well?? My memory fails me. I think another Sioux goalie came in a Christmas, anyway. We have had 2 good goalies for quite some time now. To be honest, I think our goaltending situation this year was a mistake. I don't think the search for goalies started soon enough. And those who did sign were not real top goalies, in my opinion (Brandt, Brown, etc) Their stats for last year looked pretty average. (from what you can tell about stats, but that is all I had to go on). Sedivie might be the real deal, but who knows. Maybe Blais thought that Kollar was going to be the real deal this year and Sedevie next year. Therefore he wasn't concerned with bringing in another top goal recruit this year. And it fell through on him. All speculation on my part. Anyway, it would be nice to see this kid commit now and come on in.

Some'>http://www.waterlooblackhawks.com/Some more interesting info on this goalie. Looks like he might be solid. From USHL stats, their team defensive seems ok, given their team GA, but they have absolutely NO offense, so that would help explain that nasty W-L record this guy has.

Here is an article from the Herald updating the recruiting situation: http://web.northscape.com/content/gfherald...FGOALIE1213.htm Looks like this guy might be pretty good. Nice to see some big name schools are going after him. I'm not a goalie guru, and I know that there is more to winning games than being able to stop a breakaway, but you have to like his stats in shoot-out games. To me that says he is quick, and smart, and doesn't rattle easily. Sounds like he might be a nice addition if he commits. Thoughts?

I got what you are saying. Makes sense. Thanks

Hkntsmn Be more clear in what you say. I'm not as tuned in as you are. Are you saying that if the team has scholarship money invested in a player they would keep that player over a non-cholarship player? OR are you saying they would cut the scholarship player first? If that is the case, that says to me that if cut, the player loses their scholarship. I'm not clear on how this works so I am not challenging you. I'm looking for clarity.
