  1. Yes, they don't seem to be real knowledgeable. I found it interesting that they inferred Blais is on the hot seat this year. I don't think so.
  2. BISON SUCK! (isn't that all there is to say this week?)
  3. As it goes with the other parents who frequent this board, please make sure your sons know how much we are behind them this year.
  4. I think there you have the standard.

    Good Luck Sioux

Add my signature to that list. Sioux fans are proud of our teams because we have a classy coach (regardless what others might want to think), and our teams play with class, play as a team, and play hard. We appreciate the effort and dedication the teams show on the ice. It is clear this year will be no different, and will show improvement (whatever form it will be in) over last year. It's a new season and there are lots of reasons to be optimistic. I'll bet the players are even more anxious than we are to see the season start. They will show college hockey what it means to play Fighting Sioux hockey. IT'S TIME TO PLAY FIGHTING SIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUX HOCKEY!
  6. My opinion is that whatever is said in a public forum by the coaches or players could and should be said here. First and foremost this is for discussion by Sioux fans (and therefore information for Sioux fans). We shouldn't be worried about how those comments will be taken by others. That is a risk. As a Sioux fan I would want to know whatever it was without someone else interpreting it for me. Let the chips fall where they may after that. Thanks for posting the info and keep it up, kr. At least this time it was information such as Blais quotes that were taken over onto someone else's site for conversation and criticism. That information was already put out on the airwaves anyway.
  7. I'll do it! Where do I sign up?
  8. Here's another good article from today's Herald about the game. Classy comments by our 2 boys in this article: http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/s...rts/4228643.htm
  9. The Trib today says that Atlanta isn't going to play Hrkac today because they don't want to play him on back to back days before the season starts. That really sucks for GF fans who wanted to see him maybe on last time. That's too bad. Before the game, they interviewed Brad Bombadir on radio and he said Hakstol told him he has not yet lost a recruit they wanted when that recruit has toured the REA. GO ARENA! I'll be interested in hearing how the game was received by the locals. Would be great if the Wild would locate their training camp to GF.
  10. http://www.topekascarecrows.com/stories/10..._firstwin.shtml Nice article on Fabian and Sedevie's accomplishments in a win for Topeka.
  11. It's hard to say what context Blais comments were made in without hearing the interview directly. Regardless, anyone would be jealous of MN accessability to postseason play, most notable the Final Five, and when lucky enough, the Frozen Four. I'm not going to get into a pissing match about this because I don't think it is a big deal, and it's all in the luck of the draw on the location of that tournament in a particular year. But anyone would have to agree that postseason play in your own hometown is a benefit. People give Michigan lots of grief for regionals on their home ice, etc. No different for MN. So I don't see a comment along those lines as being out of line, and I find the righteous indignation of some MN fans very interesting. I will agree, however, it is the kind of comment that invites that sort of attention. When I read it myself I wondered how long it would be before it was criticized. As for the location of the Final Five, I am damn glad it is in St. Paul every year. Whereas I don't think that is fair to the rest of the league, it makes it possible for me to attend every year. Yay! Without even commenting on whether it gives any team a benefit, it would be nice for fans around the leaque to have the games closer to their own home from time to time. Screw 'em, I say!
  12. Nice article on Topeka's goaltenders including Sedevie: http://www.topekascarecrows.com/stories/10...ew_crowsd.shtml
  13. Nice article on the defensive corp in the Herald today: http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/s...rts/4193128.htm Sounds like this will be an aggressive bunch. Even Hakstol admits the challenge will be keeping them out of the box. That will be even tougher considering Blais' comments on the WCHA cracking down on stick infractions. Time to practice those hip checks!!
  14. Saw yesterday that DeFauw and Bayda both were sent to Lowell, and Goehring to ? (whatever the AHL affiliate is). Dixon Ward signed a contract with the Rangers.
  15. I guess the early sweepstakes winner goes to the one of us that put Fylling, Bochenski and Parise together. I'm out.
  16. I also am concerned with his comments (or lack of) about the goaltenders.
  17. I am surprised Parise is such a heavy favorite for ROY. There are a lot of great rookies in this year around the WCHA. Vanek, Sterling, Stuart, etc. Parise should be good but is he that much better??

    Swing Forwards

Sockeye, it's been a week or so now. What is the report on Brian's injury and how quickly or not quickly are things coming around?
  19. On the USHL site it lists Fabian and Sedevie as the 2 Topeka players committed to college hockey programs, both to UND. Topeka ScareCrows Eric Fabian - University of North Dakota Layne Sedevie - University of North Dakota Sedevie's preseason was great, but his first game was forgettable. 29 saves on 36 shots. ouch!
  20. Sprig, when we were there last winter we were told they no longer serve the garbage plate due to health regulations. Can you believe it?
  21. 1. Mineesohta 2. Denver 3. UND 4. SCSU 5. AA 6. CC 7. Duluth 8. WI 9. Mankato 10. Tech SCSU's early season defensive problems will put them in a position where they can't catch up in the last half, before the swoon. UND will have a solid season. Minnesota's goaltenders will prove to be solid and the rest of the team just too good to be beaten. Denver's defense not #1 caliber. Anchorage has a good year, capitalizing on the strength (or lack of it) of the rest of the conference. CC has too many freshmen. Duluth represents my vote of confidence in Sandelin. WI is rebuilding, wait for a year or so...Mankato sucks and I hate them anyway. And so does Tech.
