That was a fun game to get to. Crowd was small but bigger than I expected.

A few years ago I had a ticket all by my lonesome smack dab in the middle of the one of a section. I was surrounded by middle to senior aged bulldog fans. Most of them were great, and knowledgeable. But the little old lady right in front of me was very perturbed to have this guy wearing a Sioux jersey in HER section. And before the game started she turned around and told me I WOULD NOT be cheering. And she was serious. It was a fun night. I behaved myself. My team won, and I didn't get taken out to the woodshed by granny.

That's confidence, Sagard. That a fatigued gopher squad will still hang on to beat the Sioux...
-
Anyone ever notice that anytime there's a fight in the WCHA Mike Vannelli is involved?
-
I fail to have a cow over this issue, but here are 2 scenarios where at least one can make the argument there might be a slight advantage for the gophers: 1. A large crowd cheering for the home team. Sure, the die hards will be there in the afternoon but I'll bet a fair % (30% maybe?) wouldn't be there in the afternoon. 2. If the gophers were to play on Thursday night, they would get a few extra hours to rest up than if they played in the afternoon.

Ok, I was right about how many shots we'd put up. Missed a bit on the Duluth goalie saves%. That's a GOOD miss. These guys had a 3-4-7 line just for the weekend! 1. Didn't happen. Total of 37 shots for the weekend. They needed that PER GAME. 2. Didn't get to see enough of the games to know how well they did this. 3. Didn't do this. 1. Did this. I think about a .919 saves% on the weekend. 2. Did this. I think they got 30-31 shots per game. The Horsemen were very good. 3. Ok at this. Sioux killed 5 of 7 Dog PP's on the weekend. Missed on this, but who's going to rip me for THAT?!

I don't think you meant to say this! Just having fun. I agree with the sentiment of your post. Still, the lack of scoring from the bottom lines HAS been a weakness all season. I've never been one to rip their effort though. Let's look at the last 8 games. I'd pointed out last weekend that at one point the bottom 9 forwards had combined for 11 goals all season for the Sioux. Actually, if you go back to the Bucky series, prior to that the bottom 9 forwards (this includes part time forwards like Bina and Marvin and Foyt) scored a total of 10 goals. Starting with the Bucky series, that same group of forwards combined for 6 addition goals in just 6 games. That group of 9 forwards NOW has a total of 16 goals for the season, which is a nice stretch. Regarding the 3 Horsemen, here were their pre-Bucky points and their current points: Massen: 1-1-2..........1-5-6 Canady: 1-1-2..........3-2-5 Fabian: 0-2-2..........3-5-8 Yowza. That's a total of 5 goals and 8 assists over 6 games for that trio. YEAH! Way to go, guys!

WOW! Fantastic weekend for our boys. The kind of team we saw in Maine and had trouble finding all year comes back the way the fans had expected to see for some time. Great job all, especially the senior class which was very well represented "down the stretch"! Can't wait for thursday. Very happy to hear that the AA/WI series will go to 3 games. Having them have to play one extra game this weekend will not hurt come Thurs. Way to go Sioux!!!

Period over. 1-0 Dogs Stapleton at 15:22 unassisted Reichmuth with 8 saves, Parise with 5. Both teams 0-2 on the PP.
-
Fabian gets hammered in the Dog zone.
-
PP over, no shots.
-
35 seconds left. Sioux not getting much going yet on this PP
-
Someone takes Murray's helmet. On the radio broadcast you could here the ref yell "29 LET'S GO!". (Miskovich) Sioux PP. Let's make 'em pay.
-
Sioux giveaway in Dog zone, Stapleton breaks away alone and beats Parise. Stapleton doesn't get stoned too often. Gotta get this back, boys.

Coincidental minors at 14:28. Smaby and ?.

Tim and ? saying there's not much flow to the game tonite. Sioux had a couple quick opportunities and now not much. Sioux killed penalty on McMahon. Now Hammond getting roughing call. Tim thought it might have been called on Greene. Good job, Greene, not losing control.
