  1. Most overrated player in those rankings- Angelo Esposito (#8) Most underrated player in those rankings- Billy Sweatt (#22) No way Angelo is a top ten player.
  2. I think he sent them an email asking if he could show up.
  3. It isn't quite that simple. Oil futures are traded on the NYMEX therefore the price of oil is going to be negotiated there. Once the futures "expire" the oil will be delivered to some city (I'm drawing a blank on which one and dont want to look it up) in Oklahoma. In small towns like that you will see a wide variance in prices, again dependent on when they purchased their oil futures. Since the bigger companies will buy their oil daily you will see their prices fall in line with what oil/gas is trading at. Generally a rule of thumb is add about 65-75 cents (gas tax) on what gas is trading at. This will be what you will/should see at the pump.
  4. Is he coaching Red River? If not then your point is whack. I'll be the first to admit that Red River has benefited from imports. Nick Krebsbach (Minot) Danny Irman (Fargo North) Alex Simonson (GFC).
  5. The government makes alot of money on people? First of all the goverment is a representation of the population, so you are pretty much saying the people are making money on people buying gas. Second, all money that comes in (and more) goes out in some way, shape or form. Therefore, all tax dollars that come out of the gas tax goes towards stuff such as road construction. It is kind of tough for the "government" to profit off the people. That is kind of like saying someone is profiting off of themself.
  6. I'm still surprised with that move. He is very valueable against teams with good team speed i.e (Gophers, Maine, Michigan). The only defenseman that has better skating skills or puck handeling skills is Chorney.
  7. I don't know about this? Your information is probably 3rd or 4th hand.
  8. Goon agreeing with me? What is this a first?
  9. "If you took 5% off the average yearly earnings of the top 10% they would still be able to maintain their fatcat lifestyle, but at the same time an extra 5% added on to their average yearly salaries would really help out the middle to lower class." Well this system is already in place it is called the tax system. The top 10% pay 37% and the bottom 40% pay 0%. This is a conservative tax system and I think it is whack. The top 40% of taxpayers pay over 99% of all income tax. Just think if the liberals get in the white house, I could easily see the top 10% paying 100% of their income. I could see them trying to push legislation to have the top 40% pay everyone else to live in the country.
  10. No one is forceing anyone to go to ticketmaster. They choose to use that service, therefore the company will do well. If you don't like Ticketmaster don't use their service, that is one of the few ways you can hurt their business.
  11. This means that neither player will be leaving. The only thing this shows is that the USHL draft has about 8 too many rounds.
  12. Here is my ranking: Chorney, Bina, Radke, Genoway, Jones, Lee or Finley. I use skill level and overall hockey sense as my greatest criteria.
  13. Let me guess you guys think Stafford is better than Vanek?
  14. Red wing, I'm interested in seeing how you would rank the defenseman on the team last year.
  15. Wow Dave, Hillary Clinton thinks your statement is too liberal. Let's look at Bill Gates for a second. His company sells a product that 90% of consumers use or will use. Now if you want to hurt Bill Gates then stop buying computers that have windows operating systems or any other microsoft products. Are you saying that capitalism rewards the people that work hard or work smart? If so I would agree. If you are saying that Bill Gates and other wealthy people get rich off of people buying their products/services? Again I would agree. Well I'd be interested in hearing how you would change this "problem" of people like Bill Gates getting wealthy off of consumers buying his product. Remember that the top 10% already pay 70+% of all income tax.
  16. Radke and Marto are better than Brian Lee.
  17. "Lastly yesterday I was watching WGN News at Noon, and outside of Chicago they are converting cars to complete electricity, and its like a tenth of the cost. Also the state of Illinois is giving people $4000 if they convert their vehicles. Only downside, cars only get 50 miles to a charge, but if you stay in Grand Forks most of the time, it wouldn't affect most people." Well another downside is that batteries don't work real well when it is -10 outside. So now we have classic dilemma, CO2 curve supporters say that more CO2 in the atmosphere will heat up the earth. So they don't want people to use gasoline because it contributes to higher CO2 levels. But one of the best alternatives to gasoline requires warmer climates to maximize effeciency.
  18. Fair enough, but unless you are going to allow all 8,000 students in for free than you are back tracking on your previous point. What you are saying is fine but don't sugar-coat it. If you let students in for free the other ticket holders will pay more. Now if you let more students in for free than the ticketholders will pay an even higher premium.
  19. Ok, Let's say the Gophers are in town and 8,000 students want to go to the game for free? What would you propose?
  20. Should they let all of the students who want in for free?
  21. "Let's just stop buying gas altogether then." If you don't want to pay high gas prices you don't need anyone else to stop driving. If you aren't buying gas than the high prices won't effect you. Since you will still buy gas and you won't stop driving than it your system will not benefit you at all. "It still angers me that they cap the wheat prices, and not the gas prices." Why stop at capping gas prices? Let's cap the price of everything. Let's start telling the REA that they can't charge more than 5 dollars a ticket. Let's start telling Dell that they can't charge more than $20 for a computer.
  22. Otttawa's first line has been red-hot. Their offensive output during the playoffs is amazing considering they often draw the other teams top line. They are also very under-rated defensivly: Preissing, Redden, and Phillips are all big time defensemen. Goaltending has been solid so far but Emery could easy fold up at anytime. Martin Gerber is very capable, he led the fins (I believe) to olympic gold.
  23. Which goalie let in 4 goals in the first period against UAA and then redeemed himself the next night and only let in 4 goals in the whole game? Which goalie let in 9 goals in 2 games against Mankato? Which goalie had a 3.49 GAA last season? Give you a hint because I can't wait: It's not Walski or Lamoreaux. You cling to the SCSU series where he only let in 3 goals, My knock is his consistency. You think he played consistently and I don't thats the main difference.
