I only saw it once, in person. It was a blur. Lot of great stories from that weekend. One of the great things about the trip to Detroit was spending a couple games at The Olympia; I was sure Gordie Howe and the Production Line were gonna come out and smash us around the concourse. Of course, the atmosphere wasn't the same as for a Red Wings game - 6k vs. 16K+.

Hey, I agree. If someone said we could end the season today and get Miami in the first round and (probably) UNH in the second, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

In the interest of piling on the Hobey Baker stats, in the last 10 WCHA games, Duncan has 13 goals on 28 shots. That's a 46.4% scoring percentage. On other words, goalies have been saving just 54% of Duncan's shots. (Vs. say 91% for the league as a whole.) (PS: I checked my figures about 6 times since I was sure its a typo. I think I got it right, but if someone finds I'm wrong, please correct me.)

The game was CC and I think their coach was Jeff Sauer. (He was pretty new then.)

Bingo! Correct. Just the one game in 1984, 1-2 in overtime. It made for a long drive home Saturday night and Sunday (especially considering the title game went on and on and on ... )
