  1. I guarantee that I'll never give any guarantees.
  2. Given that there's so little difference between the 3 seeds and the 2 seeds, I agree. Set up more interesting regionals with matchups that you don't already see every weekend.
  3. Hey, does anyone know where I can get some Air Force jerseys?
  4. Wow. Just wow.
  5. Last report in the Herald is that he's a go, likely to play with Porter and VV.
  6. Based on how people have played lately, I am going with Sioux and BADgers for the championship game. Even with Motzko sandbagging about how tired his team is (which he probably wouldn't be saying if they really were tired), I just think our overall tempo will force mistakes, and the smaller ice surface plays to our strength. Thankfully, its a road game so there will be more-vocal support from Sioux fans too. As for tonight, the Badgers have extra motivation and they are pretty well rested, what with Tech's rubber legs and the big lead last night. Minnesota has better speed and shotmakers but they won't get many chances. I predict a 5 OT game. 3-2 Wisconsin wins at 2:30 tomorrow morning.
  7. Yeah, but its fun! I love numbers.
  8. Posted this on USCHO.com also - Something to watch at the game today - faceoffs. UND has multiple guys who are really pretty good at it (top 5 in # taken): Jonathan Toews 636 faceoffs, won .587 TJ Oshie 302 .576 Chris Porter 221 .516 Matt Watkins 445 .515 Rylan Kaip 372 .454 SCSU's primary guys don't have the numbers: Gary Houseman 160 .525 Michael Olson 233 .494 Nate Dey 683 .471 John Swanson 482 .432 Nate Raduns 587 .431 I know that stats get thrown out the window on days like today, but its something to watch, especially on special teams.
  9. Good summary. I think we pretty much watched the same game. I do think it helped Wisconsin that the game outcome was pretty safe after 2 periods, enabling them to rest their top guys in the 3rd. My 13-year-old daughter said it was like watching high school hockey, and there was some truth to it in the pace of the game was a lot slower than what we've gotten used to. However, I do think that Wisconsin simply wasn't tested tonight. Sat right next to some of the Sioux - Bina, Fabian - they were paying pretty close attention.

  12. They posted #26-50 today: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/9502 27. T.J. Oshie, C - St. Louis Blues Oshie is a sophomore with the North Dakota Fighting Sioux where he is among the most valuable players in all of college hockey. He posted an impressive 24 goals and 21 assists in 43 games in his freshman season and has 13 goals and 28 assists in 38 games this year. Oshie also had a very impressive performance at the 2006 WJC in Vancouver and is looking like a prime candidate to leave school early for a pro career. The Blues will likely attempt to sign the college star in the offseason. Oshie is a smart, intense, highly-skilled center who could play in a top-six role in the NHL.
  13. The scary part is these people are choosing which laws to obey, and which they don't.
  14. Looked a lot like the shootout goal he did against Maine ...
  15. Two choices: 1) tickets are still available, from the X box office or Ticket#$%ster - you know the price today 2) scalp - price might be way below face (if its Tech vs. St Cloud), or above face (Minnesota vs anyone) - I've seen times when people are hanging around outside at gametime without tickets (2005 final Sioux-Gophers), so you might be left out in the cold. The other implication is that what the X has left to sell is not the best seats. You can sometimes get really GOOD seats by scalping. How lucky do you feel?
  16. Is that where we're meeting? I'm game.... where? and when?
  17. Somebody comes in with a chance to prove he's the best.... (from USCHO Statistics, goalies nationally ranked by GAA): Rk Name GP W-L-T MIN GA SV SV% GAA 4 Michael-Lee Teslak, So, MTU 20 10-7-3 1138:33 38 414 .916 2.00 6 Kellen Briggs, Sr, UMN 24 15-7-2 1398:39 49 543 .917 2.10 7 Brian Elliott, Sr, UW 33 14-16-2 1933:29 68 818 .923 2.11 8 Bobby Goepfert, Sr, SCSU 31 16-7-7 1853:51 66 862 .929 2.14 20 Philippe Lamoureux, Jr, UND 32 18-10-4 1872:18 72 761 .914 2.31
  18. Looks nice alongside our Beanpot from 2005.
  19. Thanks for posting - after playing with the scenarios, it looks like we need our ECAC buddies Dartmouth to help if we want to get a #1. Wondering if you see any "must win" games elsewhere for a #1 to work.
  20. As long as we keep playing teams from Minnesota, I like our chances. On the season: 12-0-4. If they are the State of Hockey, what does that make us? (Well I actually like our chances against teams not from Minnesota too.)
  21. Yup - sounded like a terrific game.
  22. If you don't have tickets yet, DO SO QUICKLY. Especially for Saturday night ...
  23. I think USCHO is fine. Fox Sports North, however, is another matter entirely. They are showing a recap of the Gophers' season now and I have not seen a single Sioux. Wonder why?
  24. Nearing the end of the second in CC, Tech still leads 1-0.
