  1. D Pairings, by Christmas, if not before: Blood-Genoway Lapoint-Marto Forbort-Simpson (both Forbort and Simpson will see time on PP)
  2. Ouch!! - Brian Lee vs. Christian Hanson http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/96776
  3. You need to add viewers/subcribers for the BTN to make more $$ I'm not convinced that viewers are interested enough in out-of-market Big Ten hockey games to watch it/pay for it.
  4. I can't believe the BTN propaganda is re-published verbatim without journalists thinking about the premise. No-one/nobody/ziltch/nada viewers in the Twin Cities market will tune in to a BTN broadcast of a Penn State vs. Ohio State/fill in the blank match up when the Gophers are playing on another network. If they can't get MSP viewers, do they really think they will get viewers from the rest of the BTN coverage area to watch?
  5. http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophers/blogs/101951938.html?elr=KArksi8cyaiUjc8LDyi_47cQiU47cQUzyaP37D_MDua_eyD5PcOiU Brady Skjei - UMTC 2012 Not much of a surprise - he always dreamed of playing for the Gophers.
  6. Dan Molenar from EP made a visit last fall.
  7. 1a. Leddy was very, very willing to leave for the right $$ - Hawks did not want him playing another year at UMTC.
  8. I know Molenar from EP/Team SW has made visit to UND
  9. Unless there are unforseen circumstances, Leddy will play in the AHL this year. It's obvious that Chicago wanted him in the AHL this year vs. UMTC - and Leddy and family agreed. There is a track record for both UND and UMTC re: pro development. If Leddy was skating with UND, I believe he stays for in soph. year.
  10. ... although NHL scouts have a big influence on who wins the award. More often than not, Mr. Hockey ends up being the first Minn HS player drafted.
  11. Bjugstad has better hands and will be more of a scorer than Wheeler. Wheeler plays more of a power game, even though their size is similar.
  12. Jim's the head coach of Brainerd HS and runs the youth hockey program. http://www.brainerddispatch.com/stories/07...080716012.shtml
  13. ... but it sure wouldn't hurt, either. or ... but it would be nice, for a change.
  14. Usually the last team standing has had the the best/superior goaltending. Our recent Frozen 4 losses bear that out I believe. I hope that changes this year.
  15. ... and according to some on this board, he didn't leave a legacy at UND. Dumb.
  16. We've had plenty of TC players end up here, especially the past 5 years. Gino really didn't recruit the TC - Blais was able to get more TC players to consider UND. Hak has gotten more and more TC players with more on the way. Now, unless a player has a family connection to UMTC, we are on every TC player's list.
  17. There aren't any St.Louis players on the roster yet (Bakes, Johnson). Oshie ended up 3rd in scoring on the Blues this year.
  18. or Troy Murray, James Patrick, Dave Christian ...
  19. I get where he was going - he is wrong.
  20. If he wanted to coach there he would be there now - although he played for the UMTC 40 years ago, he has nothing pulling him there. There are plenty of college hockey jobs on par with UMTC - just accept it and move on.
  21. Again, and again ... This isn't a Finehage +/- discussion. They will have too many D on scholarship next year - if Finehage leaves, it make's it easier on the coaching staff. The point is that no one should have to/be forced to leave.
  22. The D number's situation doesn't have anything to do with Finehage's performence/attitude. Say, for example, he had split equal time with Gleason this year. We still have too many D. Even if Genoway can't/doesn't stay and Simpson comes for Mattson - that's 8 D on scholarship. Even if you think Finehage is a bum and shouldn't be playing, someone else will have to ride the pine as well. In the above scenario it won't be either Forbort or Simpson.
  23. I wonder if any questions were asked about the published report from Kamloops re: Finehage - it doesn't look like it. Very strange that there has been no reaction and/or no request for a reaction from the media/Brad. Also - the D logjam has nothing to do with the quality of Finehage's play/attitiude. Removing Simpson and Genoway from the equation, there would have been 8 D on scholarship next year. Who sits - not Marto or LaPoint, not McWiliam or Blood. Forbort and Mattson don't come in to ride the pine. Also - I'm certain Simpson would have had to make the decision to accelerate his schooling prior to the season starting, indicating the Sioux staff wanted him to come early regardless of how Finehage played this year.
