Every conference that has expanded usually says they have no interest in adding members. A couple candidates out there. Ill. St and Missouri St have recently stated their interest in the past. This could be their opening.

This ^^^^. The difference between being a 16 seed in the tournament between being a 13 or 14 is big. I know this year was a little bit different than years past for the Big Sky but with going to fewer conference games next season, we have to get some out of conference wins. It was pretty bad this year.

Great season for the ladies. Thank you seniors for showing the leadership to get the program back on track.

Great collection of Sioux fans watching at the bar in Tucson. Not even a planned watch party but I showed up at a local sports bar(which is packed for the Cats game) and there is 37 people wearing UND gear watching the game.
-
Good luck to the ladies tonight. I'm looking forward to watching.

Thanks for the updates jjensen.

Weber ends up losing to 9 to Arizona. They cooled off after a hot start and couldn't close the gap. Congrats on a good season to Weber. Definately will be a favorite in our conference next season with some of the young talent and experience they have returning.

Holy !@#$, I'm not ready to hang him up. I just feel he needs to execute his plan if he has one. There are plenty of good basketball players out there and I think he's found some. I'm in the minority when I think next years team will be better than this one.

There is no doubt that Jones' seat got a little warmer last night. My biggest concern with Jones' (is actually the same I had with Mussman) is he has created no identity to his basketball program. Tell me what his main recruiting area is? Tell me what his offensive philosophy is? Tell me what his defensive philosophy is? I don't feel that this team created an identity for themselves (besides inconsistent) and that is on the coach. I look at the football team after Bubba took over, one of his first comments he made was we are going to be an attacking defense and a ball control offense. He also identified that he was going to get back to recruiting the upper midwest. Now that your identity is in place, you can recruit to that. It may not be easy to do but at least there is a plan in place. Someone has to tell me if Jones has that.

Solid team basketball on both ends of the floor. Fun game to watch

She's looking like its over. Congrats to FU on the W.

I'm just ready to move on to the new staff and hopefully some fundamentally sound football on the field. The lack of fundamentals and some effort the last couple seasons was very, very frustrating.

90% of your post is speculation. The only thing we know for sure about UND and the MVFC/Summit is UND probably was a lock for the Summit. I'm not sold on MVFC being a lock.

Great question. I wouldn't favor them against anyone if they are missing those 4. We saw we couldn't replace Brekke. The other 3, if they are out individually we would be ok. Having them all miss action as a group, we don't have the depth to replace all three of their scoring and other intangibles. Minus Nash, that is a ton of experience to try and make up.
-
I don't believe I said they recruit. I'm actually in agreement with you.

In a lot of the one bid conferences the difference between the regular season champ and some team that gets hot for 3 or 4 games can be pretty substantial. It can be the difference between the conference tourney champ getting a 12 seed or a 16 seed. One of those at least gives you a chance.
-
I agree with your point on fan travel. Outside of it ever being hosted in the state of Montana or Greeley I don't know how many UND fans will ever attend a conference tournament. To the point of lower seeds having to overcome a lot to win the tourney, there are other low- to mid-major conferences questioning what they can do to make it easier for the regular season conference champ to advance to the tournament. WIth more conferences getting only one bid, those top teams are the ones that give the conference the better chance at the higher seed and the better chance at winning a game.

FU won't be outsized as Oklahoma only plays about 3 forwards they will roll 5 guards that are pretty good so Braugn will have to defend as well as score. All in all it's a good matchup. Bjorkland could have a good day and as usual will be key to FUs chances
-
Might only have about 8 healthy for the trip
-
Best of luck to both Weber and FU in the tourney. Both well deserved.
-
It must suck to have to constantly compare yourself to UND to feel good about FUs accomplishments. Anytime something good happens to FU you post here before your own fan board.

It's probably a long shot to get granted. Still, Tyler will be a huge addition at guard and Shanks might be a good addition mid year. I also expect big improvements from Hooker and Calceterra. I think we'll be more balanced next season.
-
If Nash truly does apply for a 6th year and gets it we could be equally as good next season. Without him I still think by years end we have a solid team. Just depends on what type if depth we develop
-
We had zero post defense all season. I'm stating a fact, not using it as an excuse.

This team missed Brekke all season
