Not exactly sure what the connection would be, other than supporting UND... but as many of you may know it's UND's 125 year celebration this year. As part of the celebration it has been organized to take a HUGE group photo with approximately 5,000 people on the lawn forming the UND flame logo. I know the person that is recruiting people to be in the picutre and the majority of the free t-shirts that they are giving to the participants are green. That's around 5,000 green shirts right there. The front has the UND 125 Year logo in white and the back has the Barnes and Noble logo also in white. If we could get word out to people to save their shirts, that'd be half the crowd right there in the same shirt....

Might be a dumb question, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Are the tickets that go on sale tomorrow only for the homes games, or for the away games as well?

I saw a sign for it right next to the funeral home down the street from the Alerus Center

Second week in November... I doubt that there will be snow... if there is, I don't expect it to be much. Badger football is a good time... even if you can't get tickets I recommend wandering around down by the stadium and checking out the tailgating and such. Be sure to check out the "statue" (I think that is what it is supposed to be) on the corner of Monroe and Regent Street.... it's very.... interesting...

Hmmm... Vikings at Lambeau you say... well I'll be in Wisconsin until Monday... I just might have to try and convince my relatives that it's too cold for them to be outside and I should use their ticket instead Yay for family in Green Bay! EDIT: Dang.... Those season Packer tickets go to the Milwaukee package... so my family doesn't have those tickets...

I was kinda wondering that too... there are only like five posts or something... I was a little confused...

Haha! Good news for the Sioux! I'm sure that they are very excited to have a confrence to go to their first year in D1

The airport in Tampa

I've got a good one for UND students/alumni - The stupid half steps in Merrifield Hall And have you ever noticed how just about every single building on campus when you walk in the door you either have to go up stairs or down stairs in order to actually get to a floor? - No sledding hills in Grand Forks
-
I'll start with the obvious... - FIGHTING SIOUX ATHLETICS - Flying - Lambeau Field - Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers - Travelling with my family - Free movies
-
- People who assume that just because it's my 21st birthday I'm going to go out and get drunk... - People who randomly come to the movies without ever looking at the showtimes and what's playing and then are upset when there is nothing playing for an hour... - People who buy advanced Imax tickets, show up five minutes late to a sold old show and complain there is no where to sit - Harry Potter - Brian Urlacher - toll roads - People who leave at halftime at UND the football games Do we get to start a thread about things that we love now??? Cuz that would be really cool... except I think we'd all say hockey
-
I'm going with Phil... I think I've read in the past that he does well....

My friend's cousin transferred from Fullerton College in California to UND... his name is Ryan Pollow... and he'll be a junior this year. She can't remember offhand what position he plays, but I seem to remember her telling me in the past that he's a linebacker. I tried to look it up on the Fullerton College webpage, but they've already got rid of last year's roster to make room for the new one (which isn't up yet).

This the email response that I got from Brad.... I have also sent an email to the Athletic Department to see if they would be supportive of an attempt to start this event.
-
I figured that was also an option, and would indeed be VERY cool to see... but for some reason I have this feeling that fewer people have black jersey/shirts.... although it's totally an option if people would prefer that...
-
oops... guess I didn't need to make a whole new thread.... oh well... too late now. Derrick should be a fun player to watch this upcoming season

From Brad's Blog I like this kid already... but that might be due to the fact that he's from Wisconsin
-
I'm thinking we take full advantage of: -Brad's Blog and the Herald -The Ralph with any support they may provide -The Dakota Student can perhaps mention it -Sioux Crew can promote it -Lifetime Sports (where students purchase tickets) -Student season tickets... last year they had a little meeting with us before they hand over our tickets Other ideas: -handing out fliers at a previous series -working with the Sioux Shop to help those that forget Feel free to add to the list, or if any of you have any connections, feel free to volunteer to send someone an email or make a phone call I have some free time... at least for now...
-
I sent The Ralph another email with your fantastic suggestion
-
Just because it may not be 100% successful doesn't mean we can't try...
-
I decided to email the Ralph to see what they have to say about possibly helping and this is apparently something that they have previously thought about.... although their version seems to make it much more complicated that it needs to be.... The majority of us already have a green shirt... we don't need the Ralph to buy us another... although that'd be awfully sweet!

Any suggestions on how to start this tradition? It seems as though the student should be fairly easy to reach through Sioux Crew, where you purchase tickets, and student season tickets.... What about the rest of the fans? What do non-students pay the most attention to? TV? Radio? the message board? papers being handed out? Is it possible to do a mailing to all the season ticket holders? (Do you guys already have your tickets....)
