  12. Possibly the most difficult issue for NDSU fans to stomach is that they face another couple years of football transition: effectively their lead time on us has evaporated. And they still haven't addressed BB facilities and broadcasting issues: while both NDSU and UND need an indoor practice center. NDSU's priority issue is their BB facility: UND's is an indoor practice center. If and when UND announces a renovation of the Old Ralph (or building new), the outcry from Bisonville will get even uglier.
  13. Last night on the Fox College Sports Broadcast, Faison was interviewed in the 2nd intermission. He stated something to the effect that progress had been made on playing NDSU in different sports. He specifically mentioned what an incredible crowd a sport like volleyball would have, as NDSU has an NCAA qualifying squad and UND's squad is getting stronger. If NDSU's football record keeps going south, they may need an NDSU/UND game to maintain ticket sales.
  14. NDSU will be back, but not sure they will be able to do it with Bohl. Over the past few years, NDSU has had some great assistants and it's becoming more and more apparent that they had much to do with NDSU's great transition. Character questions have seemingly always surrounded Bohl, and it seems those issues have seeped into the program as evidences by all the off-field issues. Off field issues almost always have on-field conterparts that affect desire and teamwork.
  15. Schedule a game with Georgia State and Bill Curry Georgia State starts football next year. They have a schedule set with one major problem: Alabama. Alabama wanted an easy game before their Iron Bowl match with Auburn, so, incredibly, they scheduled a first year program Georgia State. Georgia State gets $400 K for their troubles. Only problem is that Georgia State is a transitioning FCS school, so a Georgia State victory doesn't count toward Alabama's bowl eligibility and messes with their BCS numbers. Alabama's athletic department screwed the pooch, and likely wanting another opponent for that date, may have to pay Georgia State for the release. A UND-GSU game for Nov 20th, 2010!

  17. Congrats to the Sioux! Showed a lot of heart and character after the SFA game. The O-line really started opening holes in the 3rd and Sutton seemed to find the counterflow. 190 yds rushing! Defensive stands were awesome! Special teams good. Watched on FCS Atlantic here is Tennessee. Weird seeing ads for Dahlstrom Motors and Hugos! Lot's of views of downtown and the campus. The new UND signage behind the visitors bench in Alerus looks great! Lots of ads for Sioux hockey. They need to change to add Central Time to all their future broadcasts!
  18. Idaho State has won an FCS national championship. Pocatello was once home to the FCS title game. In basketball, Idaho State once beat a UCLA team that totally dominated the west regioin to make the Elite Eight. Times do change. Here's this week's editorial from the Twin Falls paper: Please make it stop: Send Bengals to Division II
  19. Let's get a home and home with Larry Coker and the UTSA Roadrunners. San Antonio would be a great away venue. Much work remains for Coker at UTSA
  20. UC-Davis has often been mentioned as a candidate to go FBS. Here's their coach confirming that FBS might be in the plans: Boise newpaper blog: What is future for UC Davis?
