  1. I loved it! Thanks for sharing
  2. As I mentioned before, the Eastbound #20 bus runs down Madison street through the Loop and it does have a stop at the Washington/State Red Line stop. The Red Line is a 24 hour train. The Chicago stop on the Red Line is a good place to start if you want to hit the Rush/State Street area. Lots of bars, clubs and restaurants. Clark and Division Red Line stop is a good stop for bars on Division and Rush street. Finn McCools is a fun pub. The #20 also stops near the Washington and Wells Brown Line stop. The Brown Line runs until 2am. Buses and El trains are 2 bucks now and every transfer you make is also 2 bucks. There is also 3 or 4 buses that run from the UC to downtown but I have never taken them so I have no idea where they go or where they stop. They are always full of fans so if you're a follow the herd type (or too many beers in to make a good judgment), its probably a safe bet to get you somewhere. The closer you get to the Loop and River North area, the better the cab availability gets. Parking is not easy in downtown especially on a weekend. If anybody wants specific directions to places or suggestions, I can try to help. I live one mile north of the Loop and that is my usual haunt for school and such.
  3. I will be going and will be staying with a friend that lives in Milwaukee. Looking for Sioux fans to party with though. Just an insider tip for those that havent been to the UC: If you do go to the Hawks game and don't have a car, be prepared to take the bus for 2 bucks. The #20 bus runs right down Madison Street through the Loop and drops/picks up right in front of the UC box office. Cabs are very scarce in that area and its not the safest part of downtown. We walked for an hour last week waiting for a cab because my prissy friend wouldn't ride the damn bus. Not the smartest thing for 3 middle class young girls to be walking around in the dark in a shady area of town... I would like to come to the game but I don't think I want to come back to Chicago Friday night if the Sioux should play Saturday. Train fees get spendy.
  4. haha, I think the bank I worked at in GF would have said the same thing. I worked in the basement in real estate but that didn't stop the teller line from turning the tvs to face the line instead of the lobby full of customers. Damn stuffy jobs... I think its a national holiday. I'm taking school off that day so I can get on the Amtrak. Any Alumni parties listed anywhere??
  5. Done
  6. K I'm going. And if we cant afford tix, we'll be drunk in a bar (which is perfectly legal)... Yay Sioux! What a great ride this season has been. Lets keep it rolling boys

  8. I drink CanadiEn whiskey or "rye." Sorry
  9. What did you pay for tix? My friend is POOR!!! I can go, but Im worried she wont be able to go with me!
  10. I'm looking. Only an hour from Chicago. And if my friend (who is a volunteer living in the ghetto) and I can't get tix (mostly due to lack of funds), we'll be drinking heavily at a bar all weekend. Knock on wood...it aint over yet. Go Sioux!
  11. Score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Go Sioux!!
  14. Bless you from the Windy City of Hockey Haters...Bless You
  15. Carle has my vote.
  16. The commentary from TH and Lotyz about the uni's was hilarious last night. But I agree, I do like that its not from the mold and has a story behind it.
  17. As a former band member, it really does hurt to listen to people rip on the band. If you aren't aware, several band members read and have read this forum for the last several years. Thank god, we have thicker skin. And if anybody knows a true musician, they know that musicians are very self-critical as it is and are quite aware when another performer is better or worse than themselves. But they also take pride in their hard work and contribution. I know that I did, as an individual musician and member, every single time I took the field or stood up in the top corner of that arena to play for the Sioux teams and thousands of Sioux fans almost every weekend for 4 years. Glad to see you're going to lay off.
  18. Stand up and Cheer, Stand up and Cheer for North Dakota!!! Great game Sioux! Very proud Sioux fan here tonight. I have NEVER heard the crowd get that loud this season on the feed as they did tonight. Fantastic night to be a Sioux fan!!

  23. Aww thanks! And like you, my ring is from my mom..our birthstone of course
  24. When I was in the marching band, the girls couldn't wear big earrings or hoops and jewelry in general was discouraged. I have an emerald ring that I always wore under my gloves when we took the field. I continued to wear that ring at hockey games.
