  1. The Bison couldnt have done it with as much "grace" as I did Pride members never say die!!
  2. No. When the band was in the top highest corner, I was up there getting ready to play. I sat in the 3rd row of that corner. I turned around in my seat to put my instrument down and I lost my footing. Fell backwards into the second row of seats and slammed my lower back into the first row of seats. Legs in the air, arms pinned underneath me...it was fabulous. And I was early that night so I had to unwrap myself, and get downstairs to the EMT. They were not very helpful But...I stayed until the end of the game (it was a Friday night of the 1st round playoffs). Didnt want to leave even though I was in the worst pain of my life and I didnt want to make my parents leave the game either. Couldnt play and could barely sit. We went to the ER after the game. For the next week, I couldnt do anything without pain...sleep, sit, walk... To this day, I still have lower back issues. Dallman said I always will even though I didnt fracture anything.
  3. My parents, brother and I went to Dr Dallman. His office is by the UPS store and Medicap on Columbia Road. Very nice guy, very good doctor. My brother would go there for sports injuries all the time. My mom and I just have bad backs. When I fell at the Ralph a few years ago (that was fun by the way ), he made sure I didnt fracture anything in my spine and required xrays before he adjusted me-in other words he is very thorough and easy to talk to about your symptoms. I hate doctors but I always liked him.
  4. I am a Masters student in Forensic Psychology (not CSI!!) one year from getting my degree, and I am interested in the sex offender population. Prior to my Masters education track, I worked with one or two juvenile sex offenders in my previous employments. I dont believe ND or MN changed their civil committment laws but they did change the means in which they track offenders, such as registration, tougher probation requirements, and gps monitoring. As hard as it is to believe, and sometimes I dont always have my head wrapped around this... they are relatively normal people. They have jobs and lives, with families and the same types of triumphs and crises that we do. The *huge* problem they have is their sexual deviances. They are not normal by societal standards at all...but they are in some ways a lot like anybody you would meet on the street. Rodriguez is a whole different animal though. And thanks again for the link H-Mom. And I agree with you about GF/UND safety changes. I was a senior when this all happened. it changed my prospective completely. In some ways, it drove me even further into my current field to study the whys and hows and ways my profession can understand them and better protect the public..
  5. Trust me, it boggles professionals too. The problem with this guy is that he never complied with treatment options made available to him. And in the 20+ years he was in prison, his treatment options were not nearly as good as they are now. What "works" for treatment for sex offenders has only been known in the last few years. He should have been civilly committed. But even if he had complied with treatment, it probably would not have mattered. Men like him are a different breed and very hard to treat. And prison treatment in general is very very poor. In the state of Minnesota, a sex offender can be committed for an indeterminate amount of time until he proves that he is no longer "sexually dangerous." Sex offenders are always sexually dangerous; its just a matter of whether or not they'll reoffend and how/if they'll manifest their deviances. Generally, if they successfully complete treatment and stick to a relapse prevention plan, it is less likely that they'll reoffend. But they are always sex offenders. So how do you justify locking someone up for an unknown period of time like that when they've served their time? Murderers, drug traffickers and other criminals are released after their term. Its a very controversial subject and its mostly driven by society's passionate hatred towards these people. Nobody will forget Dru in this, its a guarentee. I wouldnt worry about this case falling through or Dru not getting her voice heard. Unless the prosecution makes a mistake somewhere along the line, it is quite likely this man is going to spend the rest of his days rotting in prison. He has proven time and again that he is an evil, dangerous, repeat offender and this time he took someones life. Sorry ya'll for getting technical...and I'm not defending the man. He's the worst kind or person to exist and I hope they gas him.
  6. The golf course must be full of potential suspects eh?
  7. I think OJ is a psychopath so no, I dont think he thinks about that.
  8. I'm not picking on you or your position but have you studied law, psych, juries or sex offenders? Because it all seems to be an armchair analysis. Which is fine but I think a lot of your arguments are based on what you've seen on tv news or read in the papers. The law is much more complex than what the media portrays. I study forensic psych and went to witness a trial recently of a man that raped and murdered several women in the late 90's. He JUST went to Trial in January for the murders of two of those people--a woman and her daughter. The man was a sadist and one of the sickest sob's ever. His crimes are too disgusting to put into print but I gotta tell ya...despite his crimes, he is a person too with rights afforded to every other citizen in this country. He did get a fair trial and I hope that he suffers in hell for what he did. But he deserves a fair trial...its not a perfect system, because humans, who designed the system, are not perfect. But don't blame it on the "liberals" or "glitches" or the slowness of it all. I think some folks are missing the other side too...Rodriguez has family too and dont forget they are suffering just as much as Dru's family. For their sake at least, he deserves a fair trial. I'm going to avoid the controversial issues that most people dont understand because they havent studied or worked with sex offenders. Does anybody know if the defense attorney has a mental health law background or at least trial consultants that are specialized in mental health law? Just curious. And the 20th hijacker didnt get off. No more than Andrea Yates will get off if her insanity plea goes through. And neither will Rodriguez... regardless of the tvs, magazines and so called free time in prison---he'll get his due because there is no way he'll have it easy in prison. Gaurenteed.
  9. I'm in Chicago and I was in Union Station getting a water before my train ride to the Frozen Four. The gal (who was a minority) that took my money commented on my Sioux jersey and wanted to know where it was from. I explained and why I was wearing it and where I was going. She just said how beautiful the logo is and how lovely the colors are etc etc. It was such a nice thing to hear.
  10. Hey now, I'm only 24. I know Boston performed a few years ago, but not so sure now. Not sure about the Bee Gees
  11. Since we're correcting on super-group member identities, the guy in the front is the drummer, not the lead. The guy on the far left is the lead singer. Both had major afros but that drummer was crazy. I think Commie fits him quite well 2nd to the SNL skit. Thanks MafiaMan...I put up More Than A Feeling video on my blog. And I correct my stance on Maurice since we all know who is who now...Barry has my vote.
  12. Maurice wasnt too bad, but daaamn boys close up them jackets!!! Andy got all the looks anyways....
  13. I gave 20 bucks (and spent another 50 on food and beer) to our waiter just to defend the ONE tv in the corner of the bar so we could watch Game 5. I've been to a bar where they turned off the one tv with hockey to match the other 20 tvs with the Sox. Another reason I dislike Chicago. Another reason to hate baseball. And basketball.... Huge sigh....
  14. Ok, Ok...grumbling.. Congratulations Carolina! Hell of a series and two great teams. The best team won tonight and I'm happy for Commodore! woot woot. Ok...how many days til it starts again? ? ? ?
