"Hey, good game, Johny. I'd buy you a beer at Blarneys after the game but ever since we've had to pay for ourselves I'm flat broke. At least we won't have to wait in line outside, they are still lettting us go right in."

"If you guys had the WCHA refs on your payroll like we do, some of these calls might go your way!" -Goli

Didn't care for the ending, but that was damn funny. Thats pretty much the way I felt after last nights game!

There were Soiux fans EVERYWHERE last night (the only game I was at this weekend). Normally there is always the visiting crowd right behind the vistor bench but they were literally all over the place last night, I think thats why it was so loud, cheers coming from all over the arena instead of just one given area usually. Every section I saw had a few pockets of Sioux fans in it.

It's the "U". Anything to make $$$$. I was surprised to see it too, like the first post said especially with the whole controversy going on. I was surprised there wasn't any protestors outside of Mariucci either night.....at least I didn't see any. I wish there would have been, I would have told them to shove their picket signs where the sun don't shine.

I guess none of this kind of behavior happens at the Ralph then? I must have been dreaming last year while getting my butt kicked at one of the bubble hockey games (great idea for having in a hockey arena I should add ) and some Sioux fan comes and purposely shoved me and said, "nice jersey, Homo!" After which one of the other guys with him gave me the finger. Not trying to start a war here I'm just saying this kind of behavior happens everywhere....I say it's part of the "roadtrip experience". I totally understand that Mariucci has it's fair share of bad fans but you can't tell me it doesn't happen everywhere.

Good series by the Sioux this weekend, other then the 1st period on Friday night they absolutely dominated every aspect of the weekend. Well the Sioux are definetly on the right track now, seems like they always come out strong the 2nd half of the season. Hope everyone had a safe trip back. -
For some reason the corpies at Mariucci think the game starts at 7:30p.m. Last week vs. Denver was HORRIBLE on Saturday night, people were showing up halfway through the first period and would not even wait for a whistle, it was bad.

Well at least they didn't have anything to throw on the ice tonight! This was getting to be one of the better student sections I remember in recent years.......well, big rivalrys can do this I guess. -

From my comfortable recliner at the fire station it seemed like there was more Sioux fans there then Gopher fans from the crowd noise......WOW, could not believe it. I see our student section is trying to be like Wisconsin with the "A-Hole" chant I kept hearing......great! -
Good game by the Sioux tonight. If the Gophers could have played the 2nd and 3rd like they did the 1st I think they could have had the game in hand, but they choked. Did Bina have 3 penalties tonight, I know it was 2 for sure?! If Toews keeps clicking like he has been lately it could be a fun 2nd half run for the Sioux.

No kidding, same here. Ferris State has nothing to do with the Holy Cross loss. Jesus, someone has been hitting the bottle a little early today!

Gophers can't afford to lose anyone right now, so hopefully no one!

"Correct" officials? They are all on the GOpher payroll so either way you would have been safe! -

I think the loss of Hirsch is really starting to take effect, especially on the power play. Plus every team is going to go on a slump somewhat, I think thats what we have seen lately. Plus (I don't believe this but others do apparently) the players that came back for the WJ's are still adjusting....like I said, I think this is kind of a lame excuse. Plus some injuries lately have depleted the line-up a bit. This weekend will be tough once again with the loss of Gordon, and with Kauffman being out and Pohl being out the line-up is going to be scarce again, much like the Gophers vs. Kato game. I think late in the game if the GOphers are leading you are going to see a lot of dumping the puck and short shifts. -
In a series like this you can throw out the record books, stats....whatever, they don't mean squat. This weekend is going to be the normal chippy, all out battle this series always is. Let's get it on!!!!!!

I know I was talking to some of the UMD guys last night too and they mentioned that they have had the same experiences there. The security people at Mariucci are total morons. I do wish you all luck this weekend on that aspect though, they can be tough to deal with at times. Even though most of them are 90 years old.

I would have to say we lucked out this series having Campion, he seems to be the best ref this season.....not that thats saying much as far as refs go. But he seems to have most control of games compared to other refs. Thats just what I've gathered this season. He still made my buddy crap himself up in Duluth a few years ago!

Gophers Package
FIRE HELMET GUY #26 replied to NorthDakotaHockey's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
Well technically each SRO spot has a # on the floor so if you get there 10-15 minutes before gametime you should be o.k. If someone is standing there you can potlitely tell them thats your spot.....or kick their ass, whichever you prefer. -

Just saying, alot of times for a full series like this the SRO gets pretty cramped. But if you've never had a problem then great. I actually had season tickets in SRO one year and I'm actually 5'11" so I've never had a problem seeing. And obviously my IQ is not that high if cockroaches are smart enough to run out of burning buildings and I'm dumb enough to run in. -
Some has to do with being bored at work! But I think it's nice to hear whats being talked about by other teams fans, just to know whats going on in the hockey world.

WOW, well stated. I don't have seats so I'd gladly take one of yours. And why not waste time here, nothing to do at work so I just prowl the boards all day. And no, the SRO tickets are not just fine.
