One of the most penalized with one of the worst penalty kills in recent program history. That doesn't make for a winning combination.

From Schlossman in today's Heraldo: UND has known for a couple of weeks now that its only route to the NCAA tournament is by winning the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Frozen Faceoff. The league flopped in nonconference play this season, putting its members in poor position in the Pairwise Rankings. That is true, but the reason UND is in a bad spot in the Pairwise is because UND lost crucial non-conference games. (See Bemidji, Cornell, and OT win against Robert Morris) If you take care of your own games, then you don't need to worry about how the rest of the NCHC played out of conference. The conference didn't put the Sioux into this situation; their own inconsistent play did.

Luck may play a part in some of the stuff that's happened with the team, but it goes way beyond that. And as far as loveable losers, I'm just not ready to embrace that for a team that I feel can play at a much higher level. I like the fact that UND is expected to be in the NCAA's every year; and have home ice for the conference tourney every year; and be a team nobody wants to face every year; and be in the conversation for a National Championship every year. This program has a history of high achievement; why would we want to settle for less than that?

It's kinda like pulling out the old Billy Baroo for every shot.

My friend, who is a Gopher Superfan, said that there are four guys for Minny just waiting for the season to end so they can sign their pro contracts. Watching Sunday’s game against the Irish, Minny did not appear to be giving it their all. Maybe it’s because they already know they will be in the NCAA’s.

It's whatever you want it to be; you want a place to celebrate or vent? This is the place! Personally, I like to read the postgame stuff because there's always stuff I miss during games that gets discussed/explained. Yes, there's a lot of crap but make no mistake, what goes on here has zero impact on the program, coaches, and players. Just my two cents.
