So what qualifies someone as having great hands? Is it stick handling through traffic? Ability to settle the puck in a nanosecond and then be able to get your shot off? Ability to control/win face offs? Redirecting shots from the outside? All or none of the above?

Cripes, can't they put the games on Pay per view or something? I would gladly pay $99 for the home games every season...somebody must have crunched the numbers; with all the viewers they have been getting on the Fox College channels their should be enough meat on the bone to make a little profit...Offer it through Direct TV, Dish Network, Comcast in the Twin Cities...I don't want to go back to webcasts! I guess I can always just listen to Hennessy on internet radio...

I just watched the February 15, 1998 game against the Gofs last night. It's on par with this years final 5 game as far as comebacks go...the Sioux trailed 3-0 as well and came all the way back to win...the Old Ralph was rockin' and poor Wooger had the 'deer in the headlights' look for most of the third period. Watched the game live as it was broadcast on Midwest Sports Channel and was pretty sure the crowd noise blew the roof off the old place. Not bad for a Sunday afternoon game.

Yes, when considering a new nickname I believe is not a great choice. North Dakota is also the Peace Garden State but I think the 'Gardeners' is a bad name as well.

What did the previous FCS contract pay UND to broadcast all the home games? Maybe CBS' deal generates just as much revenue? Obviously the Sioux are getting less exposure nationally with this new contract...just trying to understand the logic for making this move..(Or maybe there isn't any)

No one owns the word/name Outlaws... Teams using Outlaws likely own their logo and any trademarked design using the team name. NHL Edmonton and NFL Houston both used the name Oilers at the same time so I don't believe you can copyright words that are in common use. You lawyer types would know the distinction...I know the made-up word 'three-peat' was trademarked by Pat Riley (hate him), not sure where that fits in the discussion but just wanted to take a shot at the Miami Heat.

Easy...once a Fighting Sioux, always a Fighting Sioux. I was hooked by the time I was 10 or 11 and have not looked back since. Watching games in western North Dakota on Prairie Public Television was only the beginning. The best part is that when I was able to experience it in person, it was better then expected. Now my entire family enjoys it...whether watching the games on tv or going to Final 5 or Regional games in Minneapolis. Go Sioux!
