I think it is a very good thing that we have this week off. Having played so well in Lubbock, a let down wouldn't be too surprising if we played again right away. Northwestern State got thumped but they are an established FCS team who had a winning record last year. This will be a difficult game for us to win!

The fact that their coach does not believe in slowing things down at all even with a healthy lead is the main reason for the spread. I wouldn't think it would be that bad against a team with a different philosophy.

I don't think that the UND/Tech game will be listed due to the wide spread. I doesn't look like the SU/ISU game will be listed either - I thought that would be.

I realize UND students usually turn out pretty well for FB games but one way to help fill the Alerus is to convince more students to attend. Any ideas as to how that could be done?

The announcement of earlier this week that Russell and Paradine are joining the VB team this fall was welcome news. I see that we have a commitment from Andover's Nikki Husfeldt, a 5'11" setter. She appears to be pretty good - she plays for the top (I think) MN Select 17 y/o team.

I agree with you - there appears to be a lot of talent and good depth on defense. They are young but should be good. Hopefully, they will stay healthy!

The 2009 roster has been posted. No real surprises as far as no-shows! The size of our starting offensive line is very concerning to me: 272, 276, 270, 279 and 290 (average 277). It has been many, many years since our starting group was that small. I would guess that the average DI OL is 300+.

That is NDSU's spring roster. UND historically does not post the spring roster on its website - I wish they did! Teams do not post their fall rosters this early as there are often players that do not return to school in the fall. It will normally be posted about the time camp opens. At that time, the coaches pretty much know for sure who is returning.
