  1. I may have missed it but when is UND going to field its first men's tennis team? I assume it needs to be in place by the time we enter the BSC but are we going to get a year under our belt first?
  2. Guys - don't ask anymore questions like this. If you are that curious, go to the Bison board and ask it there. It makes absolutely no sense to talk about NDSU athletics here!!
  3. I would vote for every year - starting in 2013.
  4. I would just as soon the rivalry didn't start again for 2-3 years because I want to continue to "pound the Herd". Our program is naturally a ways behind theirs right now due to the transition. After a couple more years of recruiting and our young guys maturing, we will again be more than capable of competing with and beating the Bison.
  5. Really - I wasn't aware of that. That may or may not affect his decision-making process.
  6. You are correct - my error!
  7. I think they have made an error on the 2013 schedule. If our game with Montana is to remain a non-conference game (I don't know why they would need to do that), then we should have eight other conference games on the schedule. Right?
  8. The first potential recruit from Wisconsin has been posted on Wiki - LB from Mequon. A lot of teams of interest in him!
  9. I also appreciate the insight!
  10. I don't know but I was sure hoping we would bring in some size. From what I understand, Privratsky's career is over. A sad situation!
  11. I am not suggesting that you are incorrect but what was your source for "around 11"?
  12. Thanks for the observation - that is very good to hear from someone relatively new to the area!
  13. It was a given that as soon as the NCAA learned that we would have a "cast of thousands" meeting with the two of them and that the meeting would be "open", they would cancel the meeting. I am a strong "Sioux" supporter but I don't blame them for doing so. They feel they are in the driver's seat in this situation because of the agreement of 2-3 years ago. They aren't going to do anything that will put themselves in an awkward position in an open meeting. We should have known that as soon as the open meeting was brought up and before everyone and their brother was invited to attend!
  14. I heard there are supposed to be 50 MPH winds up there today slong with the snow. Is there concern that the wind (waves) are going to cause any problems?
  15. Wiki has been updated with potential recruits for 2012-13. A couple of new players were added: Sanjay Lumpkin, 6'6", SG from Benilde-St. Margarets. He has offers from Drake, Holy Cross and IN St. Ryan Benoy, PG from WI. Plays for his dad and averaged about 19 points this last year. A lot of schools are looking at him but I don't think he has any offers yet. I won't start a new thread here yet for 2013-14 but I have listed a couple players in Wiki: Carson Shanks from Prior Lake, 7' and still growing. Has an offer from UNI but I would think some majors might be interested in him in a year or so. AJ Jacobson from Shanley has the potential to play D1.
  16. Must have missed something, who is Wiki? Is he a BIG? A canadian guard is coming in for a visit this weekend. Please no more guards. Click on "Wiki" at the top of this page. You will find a variety of information.
  17. Wiki has been updated. I would think (hope) that we don't have serious interest in any of these guards.
  18. Sorry to learn of this. I was at UND at the time he was playing - great QB ands a good guy. The Gus-to-Gus (Ron) duo was prolific!
  19. Reportedly, Ingram commited to the Gophers this morning.
  20. A couple more names have added to Wiki. We have offered a DT out of St. Paul Cretin and are looking at a kicker from Nebraska.
  21. My understanding was that they actually have a couple of QBs in mind if they aren't satisfied with the QB situation at the end of spring ball. It is a little curious, however, how good a kid may be if he is waiting to hear from us as to whether or not we want to bring him in.
  22. I just sent a note to Michaels congratulating him on his new job and especially on his being named to handle the play-by-play of UND FB games this fall. In case others want to do the same thing, his e-mail address is: jackmichaels@radiofargomoorhead.com
  23. We have offered one or two kids so far for the 2012 season. Matt Van Scyoc, 6'7" SF from Green Lake, WS, was offered last August. He has since received offers from Miami (OH) and Army. He averaged about 20 points this year and appears to be on a lot of teams' radar. His priorities in making the college decision: 1) academics, 2) playing time and 3) coaches that are able to help him develop both on and off the court. I would think Nos. 1 & 2 would bode well for us (hopefully, No. 3 as well). He apparently really liked his visit to Miami. James Harrington, 6', 170 PG from Cedar Rapids, IA We have offered this kid in FB but may have also done so for BB. It appears that he is talented enough to play either sport and/or track in college. He also has an offer from IN St for FB. He plays WR in football with 4.4 speed and is to have great hands. Apparently Notre Dame, Iowa and IA St. are interested in him for FB. Sounds like it would be great it get him in any sport! Marcus Tyus, 6'1", 175, PG from Anoka. Has no offers yet but is getting a lot of attention from us, NDSU, SDSU, USD, Dayton and Ohio. Scores a lot for a PG - about 22/game including 46 against Elk River.
  24. Washpun update: Iowa just offered so he now has offers from UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU and MO St and Iowa. With MO St's coach going to Tennessee, he may get an offer from the Vols as well. He is also hearing from BC, Clemson and Miami (FL). [*]The kid has great jumping skills and must be great going to the basket. He shot 56% from the field this year but only 25% on 3 pointers. Amazingly, he shot only 52% on FTs. Bottom line - it appears the odds of us getting him are remote! I will start a new thread with some info regarding 2012 BB recruiting.
