That would actually be fun. The 1st round of the NHL draft is the one draft that I like watching. The MLB's draft you don't know anyone, and it goes 328 rounds. The NFL draft is OK, but I don't know the Offensive Tackle from Middle Puerto Rico State University. I'm not even going to talk about the NBA. But the NHL draft - that's fun to watch because you know a lot of the names of the kids being drafted.

I don't think Marchand is even in consideration for the Olympic team do you? As much as I love the guy when he's on your team, some of the !@#$ he does I don't like. I love that he gets in the other team's head, but the sticking your leg out like he did to Kunitz last night is not good. He is a very good player when he limits some of the crap he pulls, but I guess I never had him as an Olympic possibility.

I think the Avalanche will take Jones #1. #2 and #3 will be some combination of MacKinnon and Drouin. I think Barkov could then go #4.
-
He played for the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL last season, so he cannot play college hockey. He'll likely be the #1 overall pick by the Avalanche in this year's draft, and has a shot at playing with the big club next year.

HAHAHA...Dave, you are such a dumba$s. How about just giving the Bruins their due? And in no way do I think this series is over - Pittsburgh can certainly come back. But what the hell are you talking about - crime pays? Have you even watched the series?
-
DaveK - I know you don't think it's possible for me to be objective, but here you go - Cooke deserved a 5 and a game, but I also thought Marchand was going to/should have gotten booted for his hit as well. I was very surprised when he didn't get a 5 and a game - lucky break for the Bruins there. Earlier you said that Marchand's was dirtier or worse or more dangerous or something like that. What a crock. They were both dangerous. I guess you trying to make 1 of those sound more dangerous (not the Penguins hit, of course) shows just how objective you are!

You just posted a link to a fight. Where was the cheap shot? Maybe I missed it.
-
Holy !@#$, you just called Cam Neeley a cheap shot artist! You sir, are a buffoon. You have close to 0 hockey comprehension.

Would Marc Savard still be playing if he'd have been wearing a full cage when this happened? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z1vJrIAg-0

I have no idea where to put this, but anyways - this is about par for the course for the NCAA. So apparently, washing a car on campus is an NCAA violation now

What year did he leave Fargo and what year did his son go to Lincoln? Was it the same year? Maybe he has something against coaching against his son?! Or maybe he just wants to enjoy his son's college hockey career?
-
No, it was not a Jeff Panzer year. Panzer was there for the 93-94 season and the 94-95 season. His first season (sophomore year) Central finished 2nd to Fargo South and his second season (junior year) Central won the championship over Grafton.

If he'd have scored on that breakaway, the Bruins would have just had to score another one in the final minute.

Geez, thanks. How the heck did you find that? So here's the breakdown, keeping in mind periods 1, 2 and 3 were 20:00 each and OT was only 13:06 long. 1st period - 3:45 TOI - 5 shifts - one shift was 20 seconds 2nd period - 3:07 TOI - 4 shifts - one shift was 5 seconds 3rd period - 1:55 TOI - 3 shifts - one was 25 and one was 29 seconds OT - 4:18 TOI - 7 shifts - one was 23 and one was 26 seconds

James Patrick was fired as an assistant coach in Buffalo today. Report: Sabres fire assistants

Matt Frattin was Toronto's best player in OT last night. Almost won the game for the Leafs. One of the announcers also mentioned something to the effect of Randy Carlisle playing a hunch, as Frattin was pretty much double-shifted in OT. He only had 13:05 of ice time, and a lot of that had to be in OT. I can't find a place where they break down a players TOI.

Very interesting. Vokoun is a very good backup, but if this game goes wrong for them tomorrow, this could blow up in their face. If they lose tomorrow night, the Islanders will take this series. Although, if Vokoun steps in and plays well, the team could very well rally around him. I guess decisions like these are why Bylsma gets paid the big bucks. Any time you start questioning your goaltending, that's not a good sign for your team.

How there were no suspensions from the Ottawa/Montreal game I'll never know. If you're going to suspend Gryba for 2 games for a clean hit and then make stuff up about it, how about: 1. Ryan White's 2-hander right off the faceoff 2. Rene Bourque's elbow to Conacher 3. Brendan Gallagher jumping Conacher - not to mention Prust's hit to Conacher's head right beforehand 4. PK Subban jumping Turris Really? Not 1 suspension after all of that?
-
Yes, I can say "NHL Playoffs" without the words Red Wings - and I'm hoping to pretty quick here! I don't see Minnesota firing Yeo. You really do?
-
Penguins/Islanders - I hope this one goes 7 and the Islanders win it in OT. Vancouver/San Jose - Hey Vancouver, see ya on the golf course - a sweep couldn't have happened to a better team (except Montreal!). Ottawa/Montreal - I hope Ottawa ends Montreal's season in Montreal on Thursday. And for good measure, it would be fun for Montreal to try and pull what they did in Game 3 and go 0-5 in a line brawl again. St. Louis/LA - great series that I hope goes 7. Would be nice to see St. Louis pull this one out. Washington/Rangers - is it possible for both teams to lose a series? If so, this would be a good one for that to happen. Detroit/Anaheim - can we just be done with Detroit already? Barely made the playoffs and now they're giving Anaheim all they can handle. Detroit just has a way of doing that. Chicago/Minnesota - ugh...unfortunately I think you can put this one in the books. Minn gave a valiant effort with Harding in net - Harding deserves a lot of credit. Next year Minn will be in the thick of it, not this year. Boston/Toronto - Boston hit the skids late in the year, and I think fortunately for them, they got Toronto. I think that's a better draw for Boston over either the Islanders or Senators. If they get by Toronto in Round 1, they'll have a tough go of it in Round 2 no matter who they play.

I think we might need to start a new thread - Deep Thoughts, By Fetch. http://www.deepthoughtsbyjackhandey.com/
