I'm going back to school!

Of course I meant recently. I wasn't going back to the early '80's! When you think of perennial Cup contenders the past handful of years, the Bruins are at or near the top of that list. There's a reason why there's not a lot of Florida Panthers, Calgary Flames or Buffalo Sabres talk in this thread.
-
Lots of Bruins hate out here lately. I suppose that's what happens when you're typically at or near the top of the mountain - everyone wants to bring you down. And now that they've lost - what better time to rub it in!
-
Very disappointed that the Bruins lost. I thought they were the better team in at least 4 games (1, 3, 4 and 5) but obviously came up short. After Iginla hit the post with about 15 mins to go Doc Emerick said that was their 13th post of the series. On NHL Tonight Kevin Weekes said they hit 18-20. I tend to think Doc's stats are closer, but either way they were snakebite this series. You know the saying - I guess that's why they play the games. You can all now take comfort in the fact that you won't have to hear the contingent of Bruins fans on this site talk about them until next season. There's another saying that now applies for the remainder of this year's playoffs - He who comes out of the West wins the Stanley Cup.

I agree with you. And to your point - spelling be damned. It could be Nahkoahta for all it's worth, and it still ain't happening.

In this radio segment from Scott Hennen's show, he has on Rob Port and Ruth Hopkins to debate the siouxperdrunk t-shirt issue. A couple of times Ruth mentions that the Sioux represent the Dakota, Nokota/Nakota (sp?) and Lakota Indians. There is a 0% chance that UND will be the Nokotas, even if you're referring to some kind of horse.

In this article there is a link to a segment from Scott Hennen's radio program. He had on Rob Port and Ruth Hopkins and they debated this issue. More than once Ruth referred to the Sioux people as Lakota, Dakota and Nakota Indians. Those that have mentioned in the New Nickname thread that they'd like Nakotas - no chance, even if you're talking about a horse.

Oh, the NHL will be in Seattle, make no mistake about it. It's just a matter of how soon.

And here I thought we could be SS.com/internet friends...

Good grief. The good ol' boys aren't keeping you up to date with Burgraff's dealings? You're out of touch, gfhockey.

Quick thoughts after tonight's games: - My condolence to Davek on the Pittsburgh loss. I never saw that one coming. I'm nervous about tomorrow night's Bruins/Canadiens game - it's going to be a tight one. After the game Keith Jones was talking about Pittsburgh's future and how they may have some big changes coming in the offseason, including possibly not bringing back Dan Bylsma. That would be a mistake in my opinion. - That Wild/Chicago game was one of the most entertaining games I've watched in a while. Back and forth, for long stretches of the game it seemed like neither team wanted to play defense. The Wild definitely had their chances, and it stinks that the winning goal came off of a bad bounce.

I think you pretty much captured the spirit of this, right there.

HA - no. And I'm not saying they're not captain material either. Just seems weird to name them so early. -

Doesn't it seem a bit early to be naming captains for next year? -
Chalk up another outlandish statement from Davek...color me surprised. Marchand is a pest, no doubt, however shall we compare his number of suspensions to Cooke? Lucic is tough as nails and that's how he plays. And then to throw Chara into this equation? HAAAA....just comical. Calling Chara cheap (or whatever you're trying to say here) causes you to lose all the credibility you never had.
-
They did? Oh boy, can't wait to hear from Davek on this!
-
Agree 100%. Which is where my "floodgates" comment comes from. Once they start going in, it could get dangerous!

Yessir! This series has me tied up in knots. If they'd have lost last night they would have been in trouble. I think the Bruins have outplayed the Canadiens in every game of this series with maybe the exception of Game 2 which, ironically, the Bruins won. The Bruins have hit posts, missed open nets, and have had countless opportunities to score in this series but have been snakebitten. I'm hoping that on Saturday night the floodgates open.
-
Yeah, I agree. He definitely trolls here more than the usual suspects. Over the past few years we've argued about Matt Cooke, Ulf Samuellson, fighting in hockey, what happens in the "context of the game", etc. I don't think I've ever slammed Crosby or the Penguins in general as I think he's a great player and they're a good team. It's funny to me the obsession that Davek has with the Bruins. His whining ALWAYS comes back to the Bruins somehow.

He won't. You can't fix stupid.

Should Hakstol Change Recruiting Philosophy?
Ray77 replied to werewolfoflondon's topic in Men's Hockey
I doubt it. He was probably in town for a meeting with gfhockey and the good ol' boys. -
You're going to have to prove yourself now.
-
I'm not so sure I believe this, gfhockey. You let us down and now you're in CYA mode. I'm guessing if it would have come up at the good ol' boys meeting on Monday you'd have been out here letting us know. Did the good ol' boys not come through this time?
