    WOW

Wow! is right........ND vs. NDSU is pretty intense, but I don't think it's anything close to that. My brother-in-law is an NDSU grad and a big Bison booster, whereas I'm a huge UND fan (although not a grad}. I cheer for the Bison when they aren't playng the Sioux and he cheers for the Sioux when they're not playing the Bison......after all, we're all North Dakotans, and I'll be damned if I 'm going to root for some other state against either one of our state universities. Also, although some of the NDSU die-hards won't admit it, there are hundreds of them who make the 80 mile trip north for UND hockey games (12,000+ sellouts for Friday/Saturday games) and cheer for the Fighting Siuox.
  2. Sounds like the kind of kid (and Dad) we like to have connected to the UND school and hockey program!
  3. How long before we can get a master list of college hockey games televised by Dish, Directv, etc.? I found such a list very helpful last year.
  4. Looks like the games at Duluth aren't televised, but the AA games are......what's up with that?
  5. Looking at the size of Fienhage, Blood, and Macwilliam listed on the latest roster, the Sioux are maybe getting back to what they had for defensemen 4-5 years ago.
  6. I see you're from San Antonio.....I spent 6 weeks there courtesy of the U.S. government back in late 1970. Only got ot go around town for one day, but I liked the place a lot!
  7. Come on , people......doesn't anyone know anything?
  8. The hell if I know.
  9. Just reading this at last tonight......I'd hoped that there would finally be some real hockey news this off season, but...........be careful what you wish for.
  10. Texas Tech Red Raiders.....that makes him the Red Baron, doesn't it?
  11. I know his father, Mark, has Bemidji ties. He's good friends with some guys from Warroad that played with im at Bemidji.
  12. We're only a few weeks away from the season starting......does anyone know if ANY of the FB games wil be on the tube?
  13. Do you think LaPoint is off because of his injury?
  14. You people in the know out there, how does Mr. Rowney compare to Kristo, Cichy, etc. coming in this year (in your opinion)?
  15. "......I have wanted to go to North Dakota for a long time." Add intellgence as one of this young man's many attributes.
  16. On a different note, when does the dry land training start? Or has it already?
  17. The Bison have three. Two on KXJB 4 and I don't remember the other. So.....I hope the Sioux have more than just the one like last year, too.
  18. How about any word on which, if any, Sioux football games will be televised this year? (The Bison will have at least 3)
  19. I have to admit I've never heard of him before. Was he mentioned on this (or other) thread before and I just don't recall it?
  20. Wherever, whatever. Duncan wasn't drafted either.
  21. In my basement it's pretty cold in midwinter. I have baseboard electric heaters but if it's just me I throw a blanket on as I sit on the couch. I think the plasma will be just fine for my purposes. Also, from what I read, the 600hz has to do with "motion recovery" which, according to one person writing a review, is perfect for hockey. Another thing I read, all cable and satellite comes in at 720p, so if you have a 1080p, it won't do you any good. But, if I can't afford it for this winter, I'll stick with SD, and if so Sioux hockey isn't in HD anyway, no big deal. But, I believe some day' it will. All TV will be HD some day.
  22. $600 to $700 last I checked.
  23. Oh, yeah, plasma (I forgot to say)
  24. Don't have one, but if Sioux broadcasts go HD, I'M GETTIN ONE! (After reading research for months, 42" 720p 600hz for basement is taylor made for hockey).
  25. "Except for the hockey people"...........if you look at the number of topics and replies on this site for hockey compared to the other sports, this appears to be a significant number.
