  1. First box to check is home ice for the conference tournament. Did the math. Magic number to clinch home ice is currently 7. Combination of UND regulation wins and WMU regulation losses. Breakdown: WMU is currently in 5th place (first road position) has 22 points with a maximum of 30 points left to earn, bringing their max possible total to 52. UND sitting at 32 points would need 21 points to get to 53. *Remember, regulation wins are worth 3 points. Second box to check is the Penrose. Magic number to clinch the Penrose is 9. Combination of UND regulation wins and SCSU regulation losses. Breakdown: SCSU is currently in 2nd place and has 28 points bringing their max possible to 58. UND sitting at 32 would need 27 points (9 regulation wins) to get to 59 points. There is obviously more that can play into and reduce these numbers and the numbers may change significantly each game day, but this is a very high level maximum need look. I went outright clinch scenarios and no tie breaker/tie scenarios for simplicity. I will work to update this weekly as things play out. I want to get that first box checked! We are at least 3 weeks away from being able to hit a clinching scenario, but more likely 4 or more.
  2. I need to follow up on the above ... it is weekends like this past weekend that have me checking the boards every couple of hours and looking for any article that I can read about the season. So far, the excited anticipation is turning into pure excitement. I'll remain cautiously optimistic, but the checking of boxes is getting closer ... how long before we can lockup home ice for first round of the playoffs?
  3. Looking for examples from my above post when I came across this beauty. Got a Homer Simpson Doh to go with calling Blake, Black.
  4. I noticed that Ludvig seems to be staying on his feet more instead of going into the butterfly especially on rushes coming into the zone ... anyone else notice this or am I seeing something that isn't there or has he done regularly already? Edit: Like here:
  5. He was named head coach of a team in the WHL. I heard it somewhere, maybe on the UND Hockey Podcast, that he wasn't going to be doing the One More Shift because of the new coaching position. https://thehockeynews.com/whl/latest-news/victoria-royals-name-james-patrick-as-new-head-coach
  6. Have they announced a potential replacement for the One More Shift that James Patrick was going to skate on February 24th?
  7. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/EbaEGNuRNA5mrGNi/?mibextid=WooXLz Kristo's lead was much better.
  8. These both need to be 6-1, 7-2 type beatings ... set the tempo for the 2nd half of foot on the gas peddle every game, every period, every shift. Having said that ... I am predicting victories of 3-1 and 4-2.
  9. That would be an upset for the ages ... on Swedish ice no less.
  10. US blows out Slovakia, 10-2 to take Group B. Slovaks rested their top goalie, and Augustine was stellar in net for the US.
  11. If that Army score holds, that will provide a nice boost to our PWR.
  12. Was looking to the future host sites and the US is hosting the 2026 WJC (played the end of 2025) and it is down to Minneapolis/St. Paul, Las Vegas, and Seattle. They are supposed to announce the site during this year's tournament. M/SP would be the X and the John for venues. I was in my 2nd year of my growing passion for UND hockey when the 2006 WJC was at the Ralph ... I only caught two WJ games that year and wish I would have gone to each and every game I could have. The talent that was at the tournament will never be matched again. I really regret missing out on that Canada/Russia championship game.
  13. I am questioning where the coaches were? Are they not monitoring and keeping a pulse of their student-athlete's academic performance? I know it was mentioned that this may have been related to a single event instead of actual grades, so it may not be relevant in this case.
  14. I've primarily been a lurker over the last 15+ years and am a true die-hard Sioux Hockey fan. I am passionate and get really frustrated when we don't play to our potential and have outcomes like this past weekend. I couldn't stand to read or talk anything about this past weekend until today. We still got 2 out of 6 points and I am now over my tantrum and I am truly thrilled with what this team showed the first half of the season. I now have a feeling of excited anticipation for what the team will bring in the second half as the push for the Penrose heats up and we start checking off boxes.
  15. The flat out hustle that James showed to beat 2 DU players to the puck and chip it to LJV showed that our guys just wanted it more. That was such an incredible effort play. Starts at about the 5:05 mark of the highlight video. https://nchchockey.com/tv/videos/8642 The save by Perrson less than a minute later was incredibly huge too.
  16. That BC loss to Northeastern looks like it was a stinker ... first win for Northeastern in HE play in 8 tries, only wins of the year are were against Stonehill, Bentley, and Rensselaer.
  17. We jumped to #1 in the Pairwise after tonight's games. Long way to go, but I would rather be here than sitting at 8 or 11 right now.

    Jerseys

Add me to the list of those interested please.
  19. And the ref is standing there watching it right in front of him.

    Jerseys

Suggestions on where to go to get a custom jersey (replica or authentic doesn't matter) circa 2005-06? OR Does anyone have a Zajac jersey they want to part with?
  21. Didn't want to go through and read a lot to try and find the answer to my question, so I'll throw it here. I noticed they changed the times/number of media time outs. Used to be first whistle without a change restriction after the 5's (15, 10, 5). What is it now, and any reason why they changed it?
  22. I noticed too that our guys didn't shake the hands of the Minny coaches, but shook hands with the linesman after finishing the player line. Not all of Minny's coaches were there either though, at least not from my vantage point. Also, didn't like the stick salute on a split. Was surprised by it actually and commented that I figured it would be a topic of discussion after.
