It's posted publicly on the UND web site with a closing date of 1/3/2014.

Probably not quite that simple, but that is the basic idea. The beauty of the soft deadline is that the media may not be as diligent about doing information requests so someone could slip their application in without the name getting released before they want it released.
-
I didn't see the interview, but you may have misunderstood him. There is no way to hire someone without them putting in an application. But, according to the listing, they will continue to take applications until someone is hired. The applications that were sent in by 5 pm today got first priority. They can still interview and hire someone that sends in an application at any time up to the time a new coach is hired. The problem that some people have is the North Dakota open records law which doesn't allow people to keep their names secret. Other states allow the schools to keep the list of applicants secret. Not everyone wants their employer to know that they are looking for a new job. This issue has been discussed when UND and NDSUAAS were hiring new presidents. Some people believe that well qualified candidates decided not to apply because they didn't want people to know in case they didn't get the job. But it is part of the transparency that North Dakota has tried to put in government.

Have you gotten around to giving that lecture to your pals at BSville yet, or do you just continue to troll over here with it? Like I said before, clean up your own house before you try telling others how to clean up theirs.

Interesting find. Covers a lot of the bases.
-
Faison probably has a range he is working with, with $150,000 as the bottom edge of that range. My guess is that the top end is over $200,000, and he may have a little flexibility based on the coach. He will negotiate the final rate within that range.
-
I heard something similar from another source earlier today. They thought maybe by the end of next week, but that the application wouldn't actually come through until shortly before that. They also said that Faison had things locked down and there probably wouldn't be a leak until they were ready to announce.
-
The coaching staff is in their first year and the team is still in contention (even if the entire division is having a down year). They have also had a lot of injuries. It is unlikely that the coaching staff would be in trouble after 1 year unless they totally bombed or lost control of the team.
-
You are correct. Normally they use a hard time for the initial listing. This time it states that applications that are in by by the deadline will get first consideration. They can fill the position any time after the deadline, but can't fill it before the deadline. But applications can be sent in any time until the position is filled. For people trying to avoid the publicity you would expect them to apply either late on Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Try reading the story. When he didn't come out the cab driver called the police. He was arrested in the store and booked about 1/2 hour later.
-
According to the GF Herald article, he took the cab from downtown to the Valley Dairy store at University and North Washington. The article didn't mention anyone else in the cab. The fare for that distance is approximately $4 according to the owner of the cab company. Instead of paying, he ran into the Valley Dairy store and didn't come out. As you suggest, there could be several different reasons he didn't pay. But none of them are good enough to risk trouble over $4.
-
Yes, applications need to be in the HR office by Tuesday, Dec 10th (tomorrow) at 5.
-
That article was pure speculation. Their future coach may or may not be on that list. Several people on that list are real long shots at best. The 2 coordinators from Minnesota are very unlikely to leave Jerry Kill's staff unless he is going to step down. The coach from Pueblo is favored to get the job at Eastern Michigan.
-
This is his 3rd offense of some kind in less than 1 1/2 years. He was one of the players cited for underage drinking after the big party before last season and was charged with minor in possession last April. Hak took scholarship money away from him after that incident. All of this information is in the latest GF Herald story.
-
I believe it closes at 5 tomorrow.
-
Or maybe Faison knew exactly what requirements he had to follow so he didn't have to make some statement about looking into it. He had plenty of time to research the hiring requirements. Taylor was told on Friday afternoon that Bohl was considering leaving, and that he would hear after the game on Saturday. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a little bit of time to make sure you get the right person for the job. Sometimes you get applicants that you never would have suspected if you give them a little time.
-
Was he interested in the job? Maybe he doesn't believe that they are willing to commit the resources needed to compete at the top of the Big Sky.
-
He made an incorrect statement and I corrected him. I don't call that bickering. And if you don't want to see people pimp hockey, I would tell you not to read a sports forum for a school that has one of the top college hockey programs in the country. That would be like telling NDSUAAS fans not to pimp football.

NCAA Division I hockey championship game is always on ESPN the original (6 pm on the Saturday after the NCAA Division I basketball final), the semi-finals on ESPN 2, and the regionals are either on ESPNU or are often sold to regional broadcasters like Fox Sports North. http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/2013/04/2013-ncaa-division-i-college-hockey.html

They would like to get at least a couple of junior college transfers to even out the classes a little bit. It's hard when half of your scholarships are in 1 class.
-
I think it's more normal at smaller schools. Jerry Kill's contract is about 50-50.
-
That total compensation usually includes things like football camps, getting paid for coaches shows, country club memberships, etc. in addition to bonuses. Most of the additional money normally comes from sources other than direct University funds.
-
No chance at all that we know on Tuesday. The applications are being taken until 5 and that wouldn't allow time to go through the University process. It's possible that we could know by Friday, but it may not happen until some time the following week. It will probably depend on how many quality applicants they get and if any of them are involved with teams that are still playing (might have trouble arranging interviews before the end of the week). My guess is the 17th or 18th.
-
Probably after a new coaching staff is hired.

Try cleaning up your home group at BSville before you go to another schools forum and try to teach them a lesson. Much of your fanbase comes across like jilted children, hanging on to every minor grudge they can think of. They constantly attack UND, usually over the most minor items. This, http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?31075-The-Official-!@#$-On-UND-No-Matter-How-They-Do-Thread, is one of many active threads about UND. It has more than 900 entries in about 3 months, including from you. Therefore your posts come across as petty and vindictive. Clean up your own house and then maybe you can come over here and lecture.
