  2. As a parent, this is one nightmare I hope I never have to endure. Whatever has happened, I hope the family receives the closure that they need.
  3. Ah, that liquid courage. It was the ruin of many a fine young man. I say young man because a woman wouldn't have run away.
  4. OK, we will. You now owe the rest of us a few shots of (insert favorite flavor) Schnapps. One of my many fond memories of Sioux hockey is waiting in line for hours as a student, outside, to get my hockey tickets and being passed a bottle of Schnapps to help keep warm. I'm sure the temperature was always -30 with a wind chill making it colder than -70 every time I was in line for tickets.
  5. Are you sure? I read those exact two words in the response.
  6. WTF!!! There is no way that they read your letter.. Their response is clearly a cookie cutter form letter developed to send to any and all letters the NCAA did and would receive regarding the mascot and logo. This only shows how seriously they view the issue. Hypocrites!!
  7. Yeah, he meant to shoot himself!!!
  8. Betty Page! You must be older than me!!
  9. Does anyone want to try to get some of those tickets from the UND athletic department and fly to Denver?
  10. Never. Talk about 'dirty old ladies'!!! That's why I'm known as sioux-cia (pronounced the same in Spanish, means "dirty girl' )
  11. Ok all is forgiven. Can't sing to 'Black Betty'. That song has been deemed 'hostile and abusive'. Lets sing to 'Brown Sugar', 'Cinnaman Girl' and any other song on the 'hit list' (double entendre fully intended) while we can.
  12. NOooo, this sexy lady, who happens to be brown, loves those songs. But I bet some white MAN is going to object.
  13. The song is about a sexy lady who happens to be black. It would make more sense to me if the 'Holy Roller' faction objected to the song as to "provovative'. Geeze!
  14. Runninwiththedogs and UNDDOGZ are great hockey fans. I enjoy their posts and I totally agree with RWTDs taste in young men ( ). I look forward to meeting them in person someday. Save the animosity for the Skippys/Trolls/etc.
  15. Poor baby! Sic your mom on him! He should take you both!!!
  16. I think that the 'Dogz fans that post on SS.com are the reason we're buds. (Of course we still want to kick you a$$ when we meet, just not by too much ).
  17. I agree with you there. The same can be said about Jeanotte's statement in this other article UND seeks solidarity with tribes Kupchella says more dialogue could help end name opposition
  18. Is Jeanotte's comment meant to imply that "myself, the staff or the American Indian Student Services, ... the 31 Indian related programs on campus" have to approve of the relationship between UND and the Sioux/Indian tribes of North Dakota? Geeze! Bravo, President Kupchella, Bravo!
  19. One of my memorable moments at the Old Ralph was as a proud Mom. My two year old was dress in a Sioux cap, white and green Sioux sweater, Sioux green corduroy pants and was playing floor hockey with a practice puck he found during warm ups and a souvenier hockey stick. We were playing Wisconsin and the fans were dressed in their usual outrageous garb. One of the fans asked if they could take a picture of my son and I gave consent. I was so puffed up, thinking how cute my son must be for them to want his picture. Then a friend asked me if I knew what they were probably going to do with the picture. When I said no, he informed me that my son's picture was likely to be the background for a dart board at a Madison Pub. My current favorite player is of course Prp. Love that smile as he gives cra& to the oppposition distracting them long enough for us to score a goal (i.e Gopher game).
  20. http://www.universitychronicle.com/media/p...om&mkey=2165787 I don't know where else to post this but because of the recent hockey game, I posted it here. I want Scot Radel's family to know that they are in my prayers. I hope that they find their son soon, alive and well. Our community received much support when one of our own went missing. I want them to know they are in our thoughts and if there is anything we can do to help, we're here for them. When it comes right down to it, sport rivalries are just that, sport rivalries. May God be with them now and throughout this terrible time.
